Okay, you do realize you're proving my point for me.....Not true. They pull stuff very well, actually. ...for short distances.

Clarifying your hearsay is how I see it.Okay, you do realize you're proving my point for me.....
It's not hearsay. I've seen entire videos showing firsthand, the capabilities of towing with the Lightning, as well as the incapabilities.Clarifying your hearsay is how I see it.
You said “I’ve heard…” so that’s how I interpreted it. Watching videos is still hearsay, those videos are loaded with opinionated commentary. It's not hearsay. I've seen entire videos showing firsthand, the capabilities of towing with the Lightning, as well as the incapabilities.
The absolute worst thing Stellantis could do is discontinue the JT and adopt a Maverick-type design that has no power, and has no towing capability. Just because you put a hitch on it, doesn't mean it can tow.....hell, I've heard the Ford F150 EV truck sucks at towing, I can't imagine how bad it would be with a weaker engine and lesser power. I'm hoping that it was just something that was being speculated on, but the way Stellantis is buying into this stuff, I can't completely discount it.
So are the videos that say 'all is well'.You said “I’ve heard…” so that’s how I interpreted it. Watching videos is still hearsay, those videos are loaded with opinionated commentary.
I just saw a video of Jeep CEO or whoever saying they are expanding the 4xe and 392 to the gladiator too. Something like that.A quick search goes a long way...

I think you just bought in to the sales pitch they were giving.
I used to work for a Toyota dealership too. By the time the dealer knew about the New Tundra body change so did everyone else.Up until last year I owned a Hyundai Franchise, and growing up my father owned a Toyota store and my grandfather owned a number of franchises as well. I literally grew up in the business. And let me tell you, no manufacturer is about to tell any dealer any real news. We find out AFTER articles are printed. They know not to tell us too early. We do see sneak peaks of new models but by then there have been articles written and released anyhow. Definitely not this early out. Dealers have big mouths, bigger than consumers lol.
Thought it would be worth a follow up, but I was at the aforementioned dealer again yesterday test driving a 392 and mentioned the whole no more JT conversation to my salesman. He refuted what was said to me previously and spoke to the GM as well who agreed. They did say that it's awfully quiet from Jeep on anything related to the Gladiator but it's not done. Q1 sales figures were terrible so maybe that's why there's no chatter?!?I confirmed this with my dealer this afternoon and a Jeep representative was in the building. It's not a surprise or unexpected given that Jeep is going to electrify all their models and there has been no news about the JT but the media surrounding the 2024 JL is everywhere. I was told that there isn't a name for their new electric truck but it will be something similar to the maverick in size, price, options, etc. So do we all stop driving these things and try to keep them in mint condition? I am bummed but not surprised.
Interesting, 4 of the 5 listed have new models out this year. Won't help JT sales, many of them have high power versions too. New Ridgeline coming as well.#1 Toyota Tacoma: 237,323
#2 Jeep Gladiator: 89,437
#3 Chevy Colorado 65,009
#4 Ford Ranger 57,005
#5 GMC Canyon 52,011
