I haven’t purchased any additional warranty. That’s why I questioned what the service advisor was saying. I haven’t heard of anyone else just having the seal replaced. I’m hoping @JeepCares can help with this.
My dealer said the same thing at first. When they went to order the seal they were told they were getting the whole axle assembly.

I’m hoping that’s what happens in my case. I kept questioning the service advisor, but she insisted the technician or “parts guy” said just the seal, & they would try that first.

Update: they’re starting the work on my truck. Service advisor just called to let me know I was correct - they had to order a new axle instead of just the seal ? Luckily they ordered it right after ordering the seal, so they have it and are installing it this morning.

2021 Rubicon diesel. Right rear leak. Dropped it off to be looked at and they instantly ordered the axle shaft. It will be done tomorrow per the dealer.

Just dropped my 21 Rubicon off for yearly inspection. It failed because the passenger rear axle was “leaking on the brakes.” Dealer appointment next week for them to look. Fingers crossed for a fast fix…

As long as they replace the entire axel shaft, you will very likely be good. It took a few days for the part to come in, so the actual repair was scheduled out, but only took a half a day to complete

I'm suspecting many will runs into this issue after the warranty are over. At this point, we still don't know the exact caused. Seal, axle shaft, tube or users error during assembly.

In any case, it's a DANA issue - and since Jeep is having to pay the dealerships the labor to fix these, you know Jeep is going to be all over Dana like flies on fish guts to get a resolution - if they haven't already (we still haven't run into any 2022s have we? If we have - were they EARLY 2022s?)

Same for me, fixed last fall and no issues since.
I’m with these two. Been about a year now since replacement and no issues.

Well, add me to this list. Was under my 2021 Gladiator looking to attach a ground to the ground located near the spare. There, I found the entire right axle area covered in red fluid. Brought it into the dealership today. Got call advising that the diff vent was expelling the fluid because of the weight of my rig. Lol. Yes, I have an Alu Cab Canopy Camper. But, seriously?!? I advised that their response was unacceptable. Sigh.

I have an early 2022 (ordered 10/26, took delivery 12/9) - no issues so far ?

Red?

Vents expel air - not fluid, unless you foamed the crap out of it in some way (is that even possible!)
There's not fluid at the top to be shoved out. Sure, it gets splashed up there, but to be expelled?

Another way to look at it - isn't a person towing 6,000 pounds worth of trailer with 500-600 pounds of tongue weight hitting that differential and the axles even harder?

I agree. I advised that the ACC is heavy. But, the overall rig is less than the 1200lb capacity (even with my fat ass). I also advised that I found their findings and rationale unacceptable due to the fact that hauling/towing would constantly produce this issue.

Well, crawled under my JT a while ago to look at spring part numbers and discovered my right rear axle seal is leaking. Less than 1K miles on the truck. Guess I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow.

I too just found out that I have a leak in my front driver side axle,...didn't pass inspection. Awaiting new axle and fix at no charge from dealership

Did they put your JT on a scale to weigh it?
