Haven't seen many MDH#s posted lately. What is your MDH# It's on a sticker on driver door b pillar(month, day, hour). Earliest in thread with leak is 9-30-2020, latest is 4-23-21.

This thread includes Overlands and regular non Max Tow trucks leaking RR.
Are you using a spreadsheet or other charting app to track?
I tracked YMDH, and other specifics for some of the things I was keeping track of.
Would be helpful - maybe - if a table of some of those things were pasted in now and then to show numbers, and would indicate conclusively what models were included, and if they were the 1.5" wider (.75" per side) axles AND the standard width axles involved.
Not trying to tell anyone what to do - just passing along what I found helpful in some things...... I started doing that in IT so I could prove to the higher-ups at central IT that they were, well, full of it LOL. IT worked. Boss tracked using a spreadsheet while I fed him the information, then he charted it all and passed the results to me and I found the causes of some issues that the people in the leather chairs missed.

Maybe in the end, do what I did with the brake controller issue - I passed the dates and other information to my dealer - they passed it up the chain.

4,000 miles now, towing and in the heat of summer. Not a drop on mine. Yet. But I did modify my breather tube cap on day 1 after delivery of the truck.

I went back through the first 4 pages of this thread and it seems that everybody with this leak has the wide track axle. I wonder what are the odds that the assembly line mistakenly installed the standard width axle shafts into the wide track axle tubes? Perhaps there's just enough spline to catch the side gears in the differential so that the truck is driveable, but the standard axle just doesn't fit perfectly and allows a leak?

Just a thought.. it's unlikely but...
Not sure about that one....but there are now a few of us that have already had it fixed once. (new axle shaft assembly installed) only to have it leak again in less than 1,000 miles. I am still leaning towards some sort of issue with machining of the axle housing or out of spec gaskets on a huge order of axle shaft assemblies. The reall "curve ball" to me is why it is almost exclusively on the passenger side. Whatever it is.....it seems to "common/consistent" to be a total one-off random event.

After "repair" mine is better but still seems to have slight seepage. I don't think it's bad enough that the dealer will mess with it. Not dripping.
I've got a 1,500 mile road trip this weekend to pick up my new camping trailer. I'm going to clean the area before I go and take a look at it when I get back. We'll see.

Mine is currently in the shop for this issue and I don’t have the wide axles.

MDH is 033010 for me. It’s a 2021 80th Anniversary (Sport S) with regular width axles. I noticed the leak around 2,500 miles when it was enough to drip on the garage floor after sitting for a couple days.

You can add me to the list. Just dropped mine off at the dealer and they are keeping it until they can get the fix. They said it was leaking onto the brake pads so they would need to replace them as well. The pads will take longer to get than the seal apparently. They will be calling me tomorrow with an update. At least I got a loaner 2021 Durango (That has a factory trailer brake, lol)

Still waiting on my axle shaft. I was the one that got the old pipe fitting in the parts box?. What is crazy is the drip has slowed. Fluid checked and at proper level.

Mine is leaking on rear passenger. It is a Mojave 12-2020 build with 5,000 mi. I just had the oil changed and tires rotated. The dealership completed the "23 point inspection" and said all is good! Wow, they didn't even notice/mention the seal leaking!

Ok, got my JT back. Dealer says the gear oil was still in the parking brake shoes and seeping out. They've cleaned the shoes as much as they can but are ordering a replacement shoe set (which are, as always, on back order).

Got mine back today from repair and drove around for an hour and no leak! Hope it stays that way....time will tell. Because of this forum I caught it very early and my brakes were fine and they cleaned the whole thing up nice. Looks like new....lol ...well it is, only 760 miles....?..the mechanic and service manager both talked to me and showed me the old part and axle. They could not visibly see any issue with the old seal or the axle housing. Obviously not everything is visible, but they said if they get any further info they will call me and seemed as interested as I was. Mine was the first one they have had to repair.
