What are you guys running? I needed one tonight, and of course didn't have it, so was relegated to using my phone. It was at that point, I decided I'm throwing one in the truck for such times.

I've seen the MagLight mounts for beside the seat, but I'm not in love with MagLights given how good modern LEDs have revolutionized smaller lights. Ideally, I'd like something that charges with the truck so it's always ready to go.

Ideas?

I bought two Coleman OneSource 1k lumen flashlights on clearance at Academy for $20 each. They’re orders of magnitude brighter than my old maglite, even after I replaced the bulb with an LED. I mean they’re spotlight bright.

They charge via USB, and they use battery packs similar to 12v power tools. So I’ve got LOTs of spare batteries that I can swap in at will (also bought on clearance). And if you’ve got multiple batteries, you can be charging one while you’re using another.

The battery packs even have a USB outlet so you can charge a phone or other usb device from them. Honestly, I don’t understand why they’re not more popular. They’re fantastic.

Those are great flashlights. I have the matress inflator and string lights as well. That's a great price.

I use a picatinny rail and a flashlight holder on the side of the driver seat.

Oh what a rabbit hole this could become.
How much lumens are you going to need. I keep a few head lamps on headrest (USB &AAA) types, go to flashlight Inova T4R with cradle charger (220-110v, 12-24v / USB). Holds charge for quite awhile been stupidly reliable and long lasting my first one I got warranty replacement due to they stopped making that battery over 10 years ago. When I contacted them for replacement battery they couldn't believe how long I've been using it without a problem. I've had to buy a second one in past due to forgetting where the charger cradle was between charges. It was in my LJ on dash. :giggle: the other one is mounted in my JT. Been a heck of a buy. I've bought 2 since early 2000s so I used and carried one as a police officer that worked nights for over 7 years.

I should have gotten the string lights on clearance. Didn’t see a need, but now I do. I’m kicking myself for it. Such is life. But the OneSource lanterns are also great. Got two of those and the Bluetooth speaker.

There's a quick release lever. You can see it on the bottom of the photo.

I have other rails mounted in different parts of the truck so I can move it around as needed.
Dang handy, I might need to mount one of the old 1913 rail sections I've got there. Then I could stash one of my Surefire weapon lights or Streamlights TLR lights on seat mounts.
Some other things is mounting a "Ram-Mount" ball on magnetic base too, I've got a 12v LED floodlight on one, with a 12v plug on it.

BIG Larry. It is my go-to flashlight, I have 4 of them. It is LED and is a flood light not a beam, has hi, low and flashing red. Magnet on the bottom and takes 3 AA batteries. I use one in the shop for an inspection light. Great for hiking, can put it in a shirt pocket and be hands free.
About $20

I have at least a half dozen Fenix flashlights and headlamps of varying sizes in the Gladiator...several of which are molle-mounted on the back and sides of the Bartact seat covers. I've been using Fenix lights exclusively for many years and have never been disappointed with them. At present, lights in the Jeep range from the 12,000 lumen LR40R down to tiny but extremely bright penlights.

I have the HF version of that same light... $5.

I use it all the time, and have dropped it on the garage floor many times and it still works. The only thing the HF version is missing is the red.
