I have some older "tactical" lights, I put one of those in the center consul it's a 123 battery. Once every couple years I swap out the abtteries in them all that I have.

Small bright, paid for years ago, and puts an old light to use.

I have at least a half dozen Fenix flashlights and headlamps of varying sizes in the Gladiator...several of which are molle-mounted on the back and sides of the Bartact seat covers. I've been using Fenix lights exclusively for many years and have never been disappointed with them. At present, lights in the Jeep range from the 12,000 lumen LR40R down to tiny but extremely bright penlights.
I take my Fenix LR35R with me on trips, otherwise have a couple Harbor Freight ones all the time with me. I wasn't even aware of flashlights that got that bright until a year or so ago - found out that I had a stupid amount of REI rewards built up and went online and found the LR35R on their site. Got it, charged it, and lit it up in the evening and said, "holy schnikes" like I meant it. :)

I keep a small, no-name, led flashlight in my center console that I got from a work thing that works fine when I need it. I will probably upgrade it with one of the recommendations in this thread.

My real favorite light I have in the truck (in the center console as well) is a headlamp. Made for doing parking lot repairs on my last trip much easier. Mine is a black diamond brand I got years ago for camping, but i've also been eying the kind that clip on to the bill of a ballcap.

I have the HF version of that same light... $5.

https://www.harborfreight.com/215-lumen-magnetic-pocket-work-light-58569.html

I use it all the time, and have dropped it on the garage floor many times and it still works. The only thing the HF version is missing is the red.
Glad you have had decent luck with these lights. I have gone through two of them and only used as lights I have kept in my desk drawer and both have flaked out. Turn them on and any slight wiggle and they turn off. Checked everything like the battery contacts, switch and cap tightness to no avail.

Actually, I have the same problem with mine, but all I do is replace the batteries and it's back.

Seems like a weird symptom for a low battery, I know... but, every time I replace the batteries they work (and they are bright AF - you don't realize how bright until you put new batteries in!)

Streamlight Strion…You can mount anywhere. Solid, bright and reliable.

You can buy the USB charger version or take the standard 12v car charger and cut the plug off and use one of these to hardwire it. https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/12-volt-power-adapter-jeep-wrangler-tj-jk-jl-jt

Here are photos of potential mounting locations. I have several of these lights and had a few 12v plugs chargers. So I cut the plug off and hardwired mine. The white dashed cable is positive I believe.

Then there is some type of standby parasitic draw which is crap to me as off should be off.

Or wire it straight to the cig lighter instead of using the cable.

I keep an old 3 D cell Mag-Lite under the rear seat. Along with 3 spare batteries. My 6 D cell Mag-Lite is just too big. I used to keep it beside the seat in the PW. Because it makes a great head knocker.

Honestly, I haven't used a flashlight for any reason in years. More often than not I need both hands when I'm using the flashlight. Here is my "flashlight" and holder solution:
Jeep Gladiator Let's talk Flashlights and Mounts Headlamps

They are always there when I need them. One is 400 lumen (~10 yrs old) and the other is 300 Lumen (~5 yrs old). Right now I am using the battery powered versions because I bought these before USB headlamps were a thing (and before I had this vehicle). When one these dies, it will get replaced with a USB version. The other headrest looks the same with the wife's headlamp. Food for thought...

Cheers all!
