I have RSE slider steps on my JK Rubi since 2015. They work all the time. Pricey, but they do the job
I meant the "doing something nice for the wife" trick works half the time :CWL:

I've heard nothing but good things about RSE!

I had a set of AMP Research steps on my JK, the wife liked them so much they are a 'requirement' when we order our JT
Great product but you would not want to beat on them tho -

I've got a different opinion. Great concept, but mine started rusting after the first winter. Recoated with Rhino Liner which helped - some. Requires constant lube of all the joints. At 5 years, they're pretty trashed (rusted out), driver's side won't deploy. I'm going with an AMPS unit when they make one for the Gladiator.

a lot of great information above now the big drawback on our Gladiator is length & rear overhang also weight. I believe in low center gravity 2.5" lift has worked on my JK but this may need 3" or a little more due to break over ! length ! so a bigger lift & tires will be more of a help. also the 8 speed transmission makes a huge difference spinning those bigger tires. get on youtube & look up some Gladiators wheeling & youll see my point .Litebrite had Wizard005 wheel with them.

Wow! This is the first time I have read about axle strength and tire size. I always thought people swapped out suspension and axles for big rock crawling only. Apparently you need to go to a Dana 60 if you put 37”+ tires?

What about the RPMs that Quadratec talks about?

No, you don’t need a D60 axle swap to run 37s unless you are doing some serious off roading which requires heavy throttle (and maybe bouncing). For average stuff, stock axles will work fine.

What if I want to go (relatively) fast down dirt trails or in the desert?

Are you going with a hemi swap, yeah get the 60s to handle the power.
Going fast in the desert on 37s, yeah get 60s.
Want to go bigger than 37s, yeah get 60s.
Going to DD and weekend warrior mild to hard trails, 37s on the factory 44s have been proving to do just fine. Some are doing the Dana Ultimate 44 though to add a little more piece of mind or if they bought a Sport.

37s and reinforced factory axles. I'll be trussing and gusseting the new gladiator too. Even with the glad getting larger tubes it's cheap insurance.

I will say something that hasn't been brought up here is tire width. I ran 13.5 wide on the JK. It started out as a rock krawler and morphed into the overlander. That said I'm going to stick to the narrower 12.5 wide tire for this build. Doesn't seem like much but it is more weight and footprint.
