Do they all do this... the long buzz humm after you turn it off.

This evening when I got home I could smell something kinda hot... never noticed that before.

Mine certainly buzzes after I shut it off. I think everyone's does.

Also, not sure what "hot" smells like...?

The buzzing noise is your DEF fluid being pumped back into the tank to prevent potential freezing in the lines.

I believe that sound happens when you’re low on blinker fluid. When it’s low the pump is running dry and that’s the sound you here.

Also, if you haven’t noticed, when you go in reverse you can hear the ghost that haunts all Gladiators.

I thought the buzzing was cycling fluid to cool the turbo.

Completely normal and nothing to worry about. It’s been going on with all of ours since day 1.

The hot smell is most likely a regen occurring.

Agreed ... after parking mine in the garage the other day and getting out to "that" smell and didn't check my gauges app before shutting down being in a hurry, I knew I had just shut down in the middle of an Active Regen...

Checked my gauges at next startup and yep, DPF load was at 100% (which really means somewhere between 80% - 100%). This is the 2nd time I shut down during an Active Regen because I wasn't paying attention to my soot load since I run gauges through the OBD Fusion app on my iPhone.

Active regen and the burning smell are 2 completely different things.

The buzzing sound that you hear for 2-3 minutes after shutting off the engine has to do with cooling the turbo.

An Active regen is what happens when the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) becomes more than 80% full with soot and the engine management system adds diesel fuel to the DPF to increase the temperature that will burn off the soot.

The only way to truly know when an active regen is happening or about to happen is by monitoring gauges that show the soot level.
