Hello fellow gladiator owners,
it was not by choice, but more of a concession during the search and purchase process, due to the overall vehicle options, that I chose to buy my Overland with the Factory Sprayin Bedliner. However, I find the Sprayin Bedliner to be tough on cargo: sheet goods, trim, personal items and gear, even expensive coolers take a beating from the rough surface.

Has anyone resorted to adding a Bedmat or even an entire Bedliner on top of the Sprayin Bedliner with any success? …want to solve this before my next stint at the waters edge striper fishing.
Thanks for any input or suggestions!

No in the gladiator but I had a bed mat in an f350 I had in the early 2000s. I did it because the it was more non slip than the spray in liner.
The only down side I had was I'd have to take it out once a month or so to let it and the bed dry out...it would trap water between the 2 and eventually get mold....
If you have a tonneau cover this wouldn't be an issue

I got a Gator Rubber Truck Bed Mat from RealTruck for $100 put it right on top of the rough bedliner. Stuff now does not slide around or get scratched. Fits really nice, although its very stinky for a couple of weeks.

I kept the smartliner I had in my first Gladiator without spray in bedliner. Tossed in in the bed of the new truck with the spray in. Fits fine. Stuff doesn't slide around. Certainly wasn't going to give it to the dealer with the trade in.

Mopar drop in bedliner is only about $300 I think from the dealer. Has been a really nice add for me, even using a tonneau cover.

I use the DeeZee DZ87026 rubber mat with my factory spray-in bedliner (which is essentially the texture of coarse sandpaper). Works great, and keeps things from sliding around. Now I just need to get something to cover the tailgate to save my knees when I get up into the bed.

I have the full bed rug kit in my gladiator. (bottom and sides) works great. I didn't want to mess up the paint (non-bedlined) sliding my camping stuff in and out. I like that it's got a cushioned feel to it that I can kneel in the bed and not fatigue my knees. paired it with a folding bed cover and it fits most of my needs just fine. Full kit took about a month to get from bedrug.

Has anyone had success sanding the OEM bedliner? Not to metal, just to reduce the texture? Getting ready to install a rolling tonneau, and thought it might help to sand the top of the back wall, for sealing purposes. I certainly don't need grip there.

It will probable look like ass if you try to sand it. If there is any low spots or thin areas, run the risk of sanding through.

Also, the factory liner is sprayed in over a adhesion promoter and not a scuff sanded surface like traditional Line-X or Rhino Liner is applied over. The one weak point of the factory spray in liner is if you actual get to the paint, it is easier for the remaining liner material to get weak and start to peel over time.
