Ah, yeah, the belly button swap. Everyone has one.

The engine of choice when you can't figure out what else to do to your 57 Chevy LOL
Chevrolet must sell those things $xxxx for one, 70% off if you buy 10 HA

If I had a salvage Gladiator with a blown engine, just something to play with, something trashed other than body, I'd at least go a blown 401 with aluminum heads. OK, just messing around. Gotta find something to do with this 401 sitting here in my shop.

Anywho - gotta agree that the forensics on the blown paper weight would be interesting.
One can always ask - was this one at risk anyway, or was it otherwise fine.........

Well I can say oil made it up into the heat exchange (which sits directly above the intake mani).

Totally confused on this was this the gas or Diesel engine and I see something about a refund is that in the tune or for a new engine also these Jeep engines are designed to run a certain way I can’t understand why people try to get more out of them than the engine has just like people putting the throttle commander on the Jeep because they say it’s sluggish my gladiator moves right on down the road running 37 inch tires it is the gladiator rubicon model okay before I posted this I see it was the gas engine I guess now you can get a Hemi I don’t think you’re warranty is going to cover that good luck
Did he seriously type that entire thing without a single period or comma? Wow!

............ and, graduated with a perfect 4.0 in English and grammar.

After pretending there were sentences, periods, commas, and so on ->
Pretty obvious by pic it's the gas 3.6
Tunes - that would be Dave.
You don't put these SCs on a diesel.
Refund - why would one even think for a second there'd be any "refund" for anything?

I'll increase my power with safer methods for now -
fart can, racing stripes, avgas, 250,000,000 volt coils and so on.

Don't forget to increase your AC performance/output with a YETI window sticker.

Temps in mid-90s, thanks for the tip. I think I'll give it a shot.

Damn it! Does that one work too? I prefer Artic, but still. I'm in NE Texas. Hotter than 3 hells recently. Def getting an Artic sticker.

Saw a post recently where someone said they shed a tear when they saw a Jeep with a top and doors on. I love having both off, but 103 with 55% + humidity... it's damn hot.

Oh, yeah. And I don't have the the same solar protection up top I used to have. That long thick hair used to protect everything down to my shoulders. Now the mosquitos wear sun glasses when they fly over my head (for the glare through what hair is left)

I’ll take your 55% humidity any day, come on down to the Houston area, it will make you appreciate only 55%. ?

Come to Iowa next month................ this is from 11 months ago - several days of 100% humidity. Things were so bad when you killed weeds, they didn't dry up and blow away, they turned black and mushy like oil.
The lawn stunk from mold.

Well I may know what caused this. I hacked a 2021 OS into my jeep the last two weeks to try and help the guys with 2021s that are getting stupid throttle response and generally just less performance.

I have been logging data almost everyday trying to find tables that are not correctly defined and what not. This week I switch everything in the tune back to stock except for the things that absolutely have to be there for boost. What I found really worries me and surprises me.

With my cam timing, ignition, and fueling safeties out of the way. I was able to see that the OS no longer switches to the low octane tables. I could not get them to come on, no way no how.

Along with that the minimum pulse width for the injectors no longer goes below stock. When the load reaches close to 125% above 5000 rpm injector 5 or 6 just intermittently quit spraying fuel. Yeah that will make you mess you pants.

I have changed a number of injector settings but it will not consistently stay on. I am going to talk to HP.

My interim fixes are torque limiting to really low numbers, Magnuson does this. Fudging the injector table, which will throw off everything, or coming up with a shift strategy that keeps rpm up, and load low, with torque management, but there are torque management tables in the 2021 OS that do not work correctly.

To make this even more fun, I am seeing data from 2020s that have had the latest updates applied, that are doing the same thing.

I am less that thrilled with the engineering in these engines.

I am probably going to make some conservative tunes with all the safeties activated, but I no longer think it is safe to push these engines anywhere near 400hp. I think the small pulley is a better fit, but if your not on tip tier 93 octane I would keep it at 3/4 throttle or less.
