I typically get around 18mpg on average in the summer and 16 in the winter however it seems like this year the winter gas is worse than previous years currently sitting at 14-15 mpg on average. However I am on 3.73s and 37s versus your set up. My wife's '22 Grand Cherokee WK2 is averaging 18 mpg when she drives it but 20 mpg when I drive it this winter so far and we are typically mid 20s without any effort in the summer. Aero does play a factor but so does your right foot.

Another thing that makes a huge difference in mpg is not breaking the aero dynamics. Everyone says they’re shaped like a brick, but the engineers did a remarkable job with the drag coefficient and if you break that it makes a huge difference. I never saw any difference in mpg going from 255 all season tires to heavy 285 A/Ts E load. However, if I have anything above the bed, foot panels out, top off, etc I lose several hwy mpg. It’s significant. I’m sure that adding lights and different bumpers and bed racks and all can do the same thing. I haven’t taken mine on a road trip since I added a winch and lights to my front bumper, but I’m pretty positive that the 22-23 mpg that I used to get are gone now. Probably 2-3 mpg less now.

I still have the factory plastic bumper skid at the house. I took it off when I did the winch inside the stock plastic bumper. May figure out how to re-install it and see if that improves MPG slightly. I know it does a lot for getting the air under the front axle.

I was getting a little over 18 on my 21 Sport S Max Tow with 4:10 gears and 32 inch kind of AT tires (more like street). When I switched to 33" mud tires I dropped to around 17 1/2, now with the winter blend fuel I'm pulling 16 to 16 1/2.

I have the steel skid on mine. It looks similar to the plastic one on my old plastic bumper. I hope it helps. It can’t hurt.

While I totally agree with the block analysis and understand about the areo dynamic factor , I see a lot of posts with people stating much better mpg numbers and that's my reasoning for asking.
Thanks for your input
You will see wildly varying mpg claims from people on the internet with pretty much every vehicle type out there, but especially with trucks. Far too many variables to have any type of consistency.

Need to take into consideration if you remote start your truck or let it idle often, that makes a significant impact on mpgs. My diesel sees 20-ish indicated average per tank in the summer, and I will see 20ish indicated while cruising at 65mph on summer fuel. Swap to winter blend and now I see 15ish indicated average per tank, but I see 18ish indicated at 65mph. So I am losing about 3mpg average overall because of remote start idling.

I recently traded a 22 grand Cherokee overland with a v6 penstar engine and replaced it with a 24 gladiator with the same motor. My question is this I was consistently getting between 18 and 20 mpg in the Cherokee but the new jeep seems to be much lower, 14 to 16. The rug has 10,000 on it now.should I be getting better mpg then that? For clarification it's a Rubicon on 33's with 4:10s and automatic

Very nice rig. But at the other end of the mileage range, my all stock 2024 Sport S with 245/75-17 HT tires at 36psi, on alloy wheels, using the ACC most of the time averages 20 mpg 50/50 highway city. Driving the speed limits set in the ACC.

Makes me happy to have the diesel. Its a shame they got rid of it. 25 highway and 23 city on 35"s.

Your axle gear ratio and the speeds you drive have the largest impact on your fuel mileage. I have a '20 Overland with 33x12.5R20LT - Nitto Recon Grappler A/T's and get about 20mpg, but I have to drive it <70mph.

It all depends on how and where it's driven.

My 2023 with 4.10 diff and 35" MT Baja Boss LT255/85R17 used 191.258 gallons for the last 3801 miles = 19.87 mpg.

That was mostly highway, 55-65mph, with lots of 3-4% grade. Headwinds absolutely destroy that number.

Maybe you have a heavy foot. I’m in 37s with 5:13 gearing and I regularly get 15-17

My 21 JTR is completely stock with 33 AT's. Before I retired, my work commute was 30 miles roundtrip of suburban/rural roads, 35- 50 MPH. Summer MPG averaged 20 - 21. What really impressed me was my 3700 mile road trip back in July when I went to All-4-Fun in Leadville CO. My overall MPG ended up at 22. That was 6 days of highway driving at 70-75 MPH and one week of driving around Leadville that included 5 days of easy to moderate trails in 4LO and 4HI.
