confused ....on the Mojave & (X) window calls it
"Command–Trac® Part–Time 4WD System" for the years 25-26

So does that mean ONLY the Rubicon & (X) have the
"4:1 Rock–Trac® Part–Time 4WD System"

All the rest have the command-track right?
The 2025 Mojave X came with the "Command-Trac" Part-Time 4X4 System; I purchased one new in 2025 and it's posted on the Window Sticker as such.

So you are saying the X model comes with Part Time 4x4?

The window sticker is for the 2022 model year. Yes, it used to be an option. Then, at least from 2024 onward (not sure about 2023), the FT systems only came on the X models. There was no FT option to purchase the FT system on the standard models. Likewise, there was no option to "downgrade" the X back to PT 4x4.

As was mentioned, it seems strange to me that this information is not more easily explained in the online build thing or in the advertising. In the past, it was a big selling point to offer various types of 4x4 systems when purchasing or ordering a vehicle.

Part of why I posted mine was to show how the wording appeared on the sticker. When the JTMX was announced, marketing included it as part of the X package upgrades. I'm fairly sure but could be wrong it was listed like the other upgrades on the sticker specifically.

As evidenced from pics of the shifter, it has it even if it isn't listed on the sticker.

Now I wonder why.

I stand corrected. Wow, Stellantis has done a 180 again in 2026 with the FT/PT game. I pulled up several X models (both Rubicon and Mojave) window stickers and yes, PT 4x4 is listed as standard equipment. I did see a couple of people here show their window stickers that had the FT 4x4 as a $795 option.

That is totally different than 2024. My standard Rubicon had PT 4x4. The X models had FT 4x4 as standard. This was true of both Rubicons and Mojaves. No options nor choices.

So now they all have PT 4x4 based on the build site and no option for FT 4x4 listed, at least what I have seen.

Whatever the person putting this stuff on their website is drinking, I'd like to have some too.

If you go with the auto transfer case, make sure you change the transfer case fluid often. Drive in 2wd as much as possible. People are having a tons of trouble with these crapping the bed especially in the 392s where they can't put it in 2wd.

Ok, so here is a question for the group.

Why not make 4Auto standard?
When you order a jeep, it was less than a $1,000 option. (At least last I checked)

In a Wrangler it would be useless. I have a 4 Door Sport S. I tried my ass off to fish tail that thing in the snow and could not do it. I am very impressed how the Wrangler does in the snow in 2H.

Now, my Gladiator, with nothing in the bed, can fishtail on any slick surface if I am not paying attention.

Figure the JL has a decent amount of weight over the rear axle where the JT does not, and with snow capable tires you're doing well. The same holds true for a lot of larger SUVs vs pickups.

That aside, I've wondered why SelecTrac wasn't more common too. It's part of why I spent so much time trying to find a used JTM with the right mix of options along with it.

It makes more sense to me that the Mid Atlantic and parts north would be better served by it for the same reason Subarus are so damned popular- AWD there when you need it in changing road conditions. Funny enough, my 2022 JTM was bought new, registered and owned in GA.

Jeep doesn't publish the stats but I'd be surprised based on my searches over the years if more than 20% of Mojave's prior to the X package had SelecTrac.

In Minnesota driving trucks all I did was add some sand bags to the bed and it did just fine in 2h and when needed I'd throw it in 4h on the fly. Sure 4auto would be nice then but it wasn't really a big deal to me.

Why not make it standard you ask? Well, there is a cost involved in the additional clutch system what makes the FT 4x4 work. Second, I am reading here that in some cases the FT system is less reliable than the PT system. That may equate to more warranty repair costs for Stellantis. Third, some of us, including me, don't need the FT 4x4 since we don't get too much snow and ice here in the Florida Keys ... lol. Whatever system is less expensive, I'm all for it.
