I am less than half way through my first tank with 110 miles on the odo but in a mix of about 60% highway (with lots of DC area stop and go) and 40% city I am at 16.0 mpg. Mine is a Rubicon with the 33" Falken MT tires.

How the HELL are you guys getting such great mileage ?
I have an LE with 35s and THE ABSOLUTE BEST I have gotten so far in mostly city driving is 13.6!!
What the hell is wrong with my truck? I am feathering the throttle and have almost never gone WOT.

13.6 is pathetic. Supposedly the dealer did a "Mopar Calibration" when they installed the new wheels and tires but man, I'm getting murdered over here.

I do almost all City driving with about 10 miles of highway driving in between. And it's mostly in traffic. But I would expect 15-17 for that. Not 13.5.

Is it possible the calibration is not done correctly? How can I make sure?
check your mph with a gps or speed check sign? sorry, not much help.

i would say somthing is wrong with @trez63 's calibration or engine. That's quite a bit less.

Can't wait for the hybrid version. :involve:

You guys are all definitely confirming my suspicion that the calibration was not actually done on my truck.
My other question is, do I need to changing gearing at all for 35s? Would it make a big difference?

Well. I confirmed that my speedo matches the gps speedo. So the calibration was definitely done correctly. I guess 13mpg is what I’ll have to live with for my stop and go commute. That’s worst than my V8 Supercharged SVR that pushed nearly 600HP. Wtf?!!

I have a stock Rubicon with the Falken A/T’s and I am getting 14 mpg. I have about 500 miles on it and have mostly been driving around town (45mph or less). I have kept the top off almost the entire time. I am hoping between break-in and not being topless, it will get better.

Are you calculating the mpg at the pump after a full fill up , or are you going by what the computer says in the truck ? I always check after a full fill up with my old Kia Sephia . I reset the trip odometer after every fill, and use that reading divided by the amount pumped . I get about 29/30 mpg in the Kia every time .

I'll have to go get the numbers out of the truck tomorrow. I have a stock Overland with the Bridgestone highway tires at 42psi. I think I got around 20mpg on my trip to Fresno a few weeks ago. Trip A keeps a running total and average from inception, and Trip B gets reset every time I fill the tank. I write down what the Trip meter shows, and do a hand calc on miles and gallons each time.
