I’ve had USAA since 1998. My payment is 98$/month for a gladiator. I have full coverage, and towing.
no issues in 7+ years.

I can say if you are a disabled vet, and are at the percent(40%+ I think, I’m at 100 so I don’t remember where the coverage starts) where your entire medical is covered they can wave your personal medical coverage. Not your liability towards others, just you. I know mine is and it got me a good discount.
I'm 100%, I will requote usaa then, plus I have Tricare as a retired Vet, so medical is covered regardless.

Mine has gone up about 40% over the last two years, would be about 80% if I kept the same level of coverage. Total BS.

Their rep said, “If you lower your coverage, your rates will go down. Everything has just gotten so expensive… the cost to replace a headlight has double or tripled in the last 3 years”.

So…. repairs cost 2-3x what they used to, my rate goes up 40% and I end up with 50% less coverage anyways? Makes sense.

Note: I’ve been insuranced for 15 years.. paying between $190-$290 a month… or $39,600 without a single claim. Insurance “products” seem to be very profitable.

My Salary. 3% isn't cutting it against inflation.
Truth. Same boat. ? Though I am told I just need to do better, and make more money… ?? simple solution right ?

The older I get, the less miles I put on my truck and the more I put on my bicycles.

My dad has 13 of us. and I'm the only one off his plan. He pays out the ass. especially since my family only has new cars. they have 5 active drivers and 6 cars on policy rn.

Can you choose to identify with a lower rate now a days?
Its probably been done. But my younger brother loves chick fil a too much to spare my dad, and tbh he's a drop in the pond. My dad has my mom, only sister, and 3 of my younger brothers active on his policy. he's fucked too cus he's got 4 more sons past that to cover when they come of age.

Don't overlook all available discounts.

For example, the company I work for requires us to take a Defensive Driving course. Geico accepted my 'diploma' and gives me a discount for it.

Don't overlook other things like good student discount as well.

Another big savings for me was the "away at school" discount. I actually did not know about this one until I spoke with a person at Geico. My daughter is away at college, 140 miles away. Changing her status to "away at school" actually ended up decreasing my rate by something like 20% instead of an increase of about 25%.

I’m with Liberty Mutual who writes 12 month policies and mine is set to renew in July.

Uninsured motorist went up 40% in North Texas yer over year so I’m not looking forward to my renewal.
Isn't it funny, in a not so funny way, how responsible and reasonable people get penalized for the illegal? It would be more understandable to pay such crazy dollar values for 'uninsured' motorists if there wasn't a state/federal mandate for vehicle insurance. But since its illegal from the start, we shouldnt' be held to the fire for somebody else who is irresponsible.

This whole situation, call it inflation, will not go away unless 1) there is a major economic crash, or 2) people nation wide collectively are willing to 'accept less', or rather will stop wanting more and more.

We are all part of the problem. Including myself. I want to make more money to be able to afford and buy more things. So does the CEO (assuming I work at a private company). Well for that to happen, ether jobs or costs need to be cut, or prices need to rise. Well, that directly impacts you who shop at the place I work. And it directly affects me who shops at the place you work. Of course add in competing companies who sell similar items. Add to that government/state regulation that forces people to buy things like home/vehicle insurance based on passed laws. And a system that penalizes responsible people while not penalizing irresponsible people. It is simple economics and social economics. Of course a person can get into the political talk of what makes additional worsening or better situations but, at the very root of it all, it is the collective minds/opinions/desires of a society as a whole.

If everyone in this country was willing to accept less, collectively, then prices and things would reduce. But nobody, or few, would be willing to do that. Everyone is basically selfish. I want to fix up my TJ and LJ. This requires more money to be spent. The companies selling the products I want to buy also want to make more money for themselves so they can buy what they want. And so it continues endlessly. Unless everyone collectively 'curbs their appetite' it will never end. Inflation has been a thing from the beginning. Even in the Roman Empire days. The two (inflation and collective greed) is mutually inclusive and cannot be separated.

It sucks to think about. But every single one of us here is part of the problem. We're all in it together. Just the cold hard truth.

When my renewal came this month they congratulated me for being switched to their newest coverage option. I still have no idea what that means and my agent didn’t either. They did clearly decide to begin charging me for the accident forgiveness that they added for free as a benefit for not having a claim ever in the 10 or 15 years I have had insurance with them. What a plus.

Shop around every 2 years. After over 30 yrs with USAA, I saved $2000 a year with Progressive, home, and auto! Never a claim.... Shameful
This. They ALL stick it to you within a year or two of your first policy with them. Over the last 30+ years, my wife and I have been with every major insurance company at least once, some twice, and a few lesser known companies as well. They all play the same game... they lure you in with a competitive quote, and then after a year or so, start jacking up your rates in the hope that you're too lazy to, once again, shop around.

It may be true that ALL of them are issuing rate increases, but if you've been with a company through 2 or 3 rate increases, I can almost *guarantee* you that you can find a better rate/quote elsewhere.

We just went back to Geico last year after Progressive jacked our rates again... and we've had NO claims with any agency for the last 20+ years now.
