Pull the air intake tube off the throttle body and filter box and rotate it out of the way on top of the computer. You can get at the pump then.

This part was a pain. The hose will only route one way and you'll find square holes on the radiator support where the hose clips push into. There is a rubber 'protector' sleeve on one of the hoses that lines up where it could get smashed as it passes downward.... the muddy hose in this pic.

That does give better access, but oh my! Does the pump on the parts list replace the existing washer pump and hook up the same way (electrical connection and fluid hose, with exception of adding the camera washer hose)?

I'm taking videos as I go, to hopefully save you questions in the future...

I actually just did this. Other than removing the ECU there is no otherway to get better access. The good news is pretty easy to disconnect the hoses. You don't need to unplug the wiring harness from the pump because the harness gets replaced. Will need to remove one of the bolts that secures the ECU to remove the old harness. Then unplug it by the fender.

For running the hose to the camera there is a plastic panel on the drivers side of the grille held in by two push pins. Remove that and it's a straight shot to the pump.

Thanks @ecidiego I got it installed. The hose that connects to the pump could stand to be 3-4" longer, but I got it to work. This was easier (with your guidance) than the back panel behind the seat!

You ran it diagonally across the grill right? It clips in on its way to the camera.

Data point...why not....it's been over a year and 0 problems. It's a bitch but it works if you're careful, buy the correct parts, install them correctly, and program correctly.

Here are the issues I've encountered on this is install:

1. I was not able to remove the front grill with my winch installed. Essentially had to uninstall and reinstall the winch and front bumper. This probably added 6 hours to this install.

2. I did the install in the engine bay first for the camera and washer/pump. After the install my radio now cuts in and out every 10 seconds. Apparently this a common issue on JKs caused by failure of the washer pump wiring harness (in my case because I changed the harness). I haven't reprogrammed the ECU yet I'm hoping this goes away with the programming.

3. I couldn't get Alfaobd to connect to my OBDLink+. It gave me a Bus Init error. Took a lot of googling and troubleshooting and eventually found out you have to change the init options in the advanced menu.

4. I only broke one clip removing the back panel. I highly recommend getting an interior panel removal kit. Use the small plastic tool to pull panel forward enough for you to get the prybar behind the panel. There are small indentations in the top of the panel which is where you should insert the pry bar. Do not attempt to pull the panel with your hands you will break the clips!!


I programmed everything the way Jimmy described. Now just waiting for the ECU to update so I can put the interior back together.

It's a 2022, I googled the issue and apparently it's related to the washer pump harness. For some reason that also affects the volume of the radio. I guessing it's because I replaced the harness without telling the ECU.

I bought a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel and negotiated the dealer throw in 90% of the parts for the front trail cam after reading these forums and them telling me it’s impossible. Before I begin, I have a few questions:
1. Is the “Billet Silver” rear camera listed above the same as “Silver Zenith”? If not, does anyone know the part number for Zenith Silver rear cam for this project?
2. Does the 2023MY use the same CVPM as the 2021/22?
3. After looking at the video above it appears the ecodiesel may have some interesting changes…like the fuse box is located in a different place and obviously has many different fuses. Has anyone done this mod on an ecodiesel and are there other changes I need to be aware of before I tear this thing apart?
