@ecidiego This is driver side view. How does this compare to what you have?

Jeep Gladiator My OEM Front Trail Cam install thread 20231230_192200

Front cam works!

It has been roughly 6 hours since the install. I am curious as to what is happening with the machine and how the configuration is updated. It takes so looong.

Interestingly, offroad page disappeared and I believe it is likely due to how the system is upgrading? Or at least that is my hope.

So 2023 AlfaOBD works, CVPM works at least for the cams. Will update with a few things that caught me off guard and I still need to figure out the washer motor/cable/plumbing routing. Will document the rest of the process.

Update: I am sure all the posts I made have some time stamps. This gave me a rough idea how long the configuration propagated through the Jeep. I kinda started after lunch time and it is now almost 10. I confirmed all the camera functions work as well as the menu. About 8 hours or so, the install and configuration is complete.

Will tidy up stuff as I figure out the routing and where to place CVPM.

@DailyDrivenTJ holy crap I’m stoked, Nice job! My parts just arrived after 7 months and I am beyond excited to start and complete this task, what size farkas do you recommend after seeing all the recommends on this thread. I’m guessing a 1’ (female/male) and a 6’ (female/female) for the front trail cam and what about for the rear camera?

@Alc I am not going to mount my CVPM in the back so I will be reordering all the Fakra cables, still deciding if I want to go from driver or passenger side. I am also doing other stuff to the Jeep so that I don't have to keep removing interior panels and risk breaking tabs and cause rattles.

I would go a foot or two from grill then then go long.

I’m not going to the back either. If you don’t have the MOPAR trailer brake, the left kick panel has a ton of room for a mount and I’d suggest watching an install video of that to gather some ideas. The MOPAR brake controller module came mounted on a piece of steel that easily secured back there so it would definitely be possible to come up a similar mount for the CVPM there. Since I have the brake controller I’m going to try and find a place on the right side kick panel but if not I may have to become a little more inventive.

also, I may not run my 2 wires (power and farka) through the firewall. was looking at the drivers side and there is a small set of wires entering the the cabin through what appears to be the windshield gap:

I am leaning towards following this method on the passenger side of the vehicle.

now, if only I could figure out the washer system…that appears to be an enormous challenge which I have no solution for. I can’t even see where the pump goes into the tank or even how to move the tank enough to explore.

That washer tank looks like a dumpster fire to remove…mine is definitely on the drivers side but I’m sure is “relatively” similar. How many bolts do you count that I will have to remove on the gas version to get that out? It does appear I’ll have to remove the wheel liner.

I was wondering why the washer hose instructions made no sense on my diesel. LOL. The hose from pump to front hose listed is about 1~2 feet short.

Access would not be too bad once the liner comes out.

Not sure of the electrical harness is long enough... We will see.

I do have a fix on the way for the washer hose and will update once it is done.

@Alc Thanks for the idea on the Mopar trailer brake controller mount. I am putting in a half dozen stuff in the JT that requires running cables through the firewall. So I am consolidating all the wires by creating another PDC inside the cab.

I will be running 0 ga or 2 ga cable from the battery into the cab through firewall. Factory aux also give you switched power inside the cab behind the glove box and you can use that to create switched circuit without having to carry any load.

Diesels are different. These threads were made when everyone had 3.6s. You can just depin and reverse your existing harneess....just 2 wires of the 4 need it.
Can you just swap the two pins at the pump side?
