That is my Jeep :)

I'm asking if anyone has ever tried these wheels on a Gladiator?
There is a post at the bottom of last page that says they were told the breaks will not clear, but I can not find a 100% confirmation from someone that really honestly tried to bolt them up.

Any help appreciated.

-Dan
I think the Gladiator spare tire wheel, which is steel, is pretty cheap and can fit over the brakes. TFL bought a set for their Gladiator Rubicon. They put 35's on them and love them. I can't remember the price, but they were not expensive compared to alloy wheels, even straight from Mopar. I'll try and find them.

Yes, thanks very much Dan, you are absolutely right, and a few people in this very thread have done that and it works.

I'm asking *specifically* about the "Mopar Winter Wheels", which are pictured on my JK in this thread (they have the much flatter face).

Cheers,
-Dan

I think the bigger problem is clearing the calipers.

The rotor on the front of my JK is 302mm, and on the rear of the Gladiator they're 350mm.
So even if the calipers are identical (no saying they are), then I would need around 48mm of clearance from my JK caliper to the wheel (that's 1.89inches)

It's hard for me to measure and get my hands in there right now, but I think there is about half of that clearance from my JK caliper to the wheel....

So right now I'm thinking they won't go over the rear caliper on the Gladiator, unless the caliper is significantly thinner than the JK front ones. (which is certainly possible)

EDIT: I see you're in Canada... based on your name I'm assuming the island.
I'm in Nelson, BC.
If you ever come out this way we could try my spare on your Gladiator (it's the Mopar Winter Wheel with 285/70R17 Yokohamas)

I’m on an island but at the opposite end of the country. I’m in PEI. But if I’m out your way!

Dude. Bucket list trip for me. A couple years back I drove my JK from Vancouver to Moncton, NB. We had plans to get to the other Maritime provinces, but ran out of time. PEI is a MUST VISIT for me post-COVID and I can’t wait to get there!

P.S. - I know you were talking to Dan. ;)

Also both the jeep Commander and the Gladiator have 12.9” breaks.

Anyone know the weight of the steel spare compared to the Sport S alloy?

I bought 4 steel rubicon spare tires this week and took some measurements. I have a 2021 overland diesel. The stock aluminum wheel/tires are 62 lb and the steelies with Falken AT 285/70R17 are 89.4 lbs. The Aluminums are 18 x 7.5" with +44.45 offset . The steel spares are 17" x 7.5" with +44.45mm offset. The tires set just flush with the fenders with my NON wide axels or fenders. I don't think they will trash my paint job ;).

I don't yet know if they have TPMS on them. Does anyone know?
I would like to add some center caps. Has anyone found anything? There are zero for mounting features so I might have to get some screw on clips.

Thanks very much for the info and measurements!
If you have a minute could you please measure the width of your tires?
I'd like to know the entire width "Bulge to bulge" - I know tires vary with brand, and I want to really make sure the 285/70s I run don't stick out any further than yours.

Thanks !

Pretty sure the steel spare wheel is the same specs as the aluminum wheels. The only JT wheel that has a different offset is the Mojave aluminum wheels and possibly the Mojave spare.
One thing with the steel spare wheels they rust pretty quickly at the seam where the barrel and center disk are welded together.

Tread width on the Falken Widpeak AT are 9-5/8" and overall bulge width is 11.25 on the top and 11-3/8" on the bottom with weight on it.

There is no TPMS on the spare from the factory.

But you shoudl be able to transfer them from the original rims or buy new ones. I think it is all in the valve stem and should work with the steel wheels.
