It's YOUR truck, do what YOU want, make it yours. Don't do things to make someone else happy, or have others "tell" you what to do..... get ideas, and either use them or not. Or leave it stock. You don't HAVE to do anything to these. They come from the factory ready to use.

Or you can pimp it out and look like you live on the south side of a certain city.
It's your truck. Not mine, nor anyone else's.
Mine does everything I have thrown at it, and done it well, with only a few mods, and not a ton of money spent. I take shit for being a mall crawler from the hard-core guys but tough crap.
It tows, it hauls stuff, it pulls people out of winter ditches, it moves big stationary generators, and it goes well in the winter. It's a reliable cross-country driver for family trips.

As Papa says make it yours. Mine is a sport S so your Rubicon is better equipped out the door than mine. However for two years I have towed my boat, enclosed trailer, rode on the beach, surf fished, hunted, and rode some trails. It does every thing I want it to do. Beautiful truck enjoy.

Watch out for JeepPox! Once you’ve been exposed to it, it’ll empty your wallet. It’s highly contagious but who knows? Give it a shot.

Find your local Jeep group and wheel it :) Lots of folks take their stock and moderately modified trucks off road.

First couple times out, my truck was stock and I was very impressed with it.

You can do 35's without a lift. Get all the overlanding/ Jeeping equipment first. Save the lift for last when you know better what you want and need.

If you're going to protect the paint, ie ceramic coating, I believe that it costs less if you get it done soon. Less to prep/paint correct. The rest you can figure out as you go. Like people have said, get to know your Jeep and your needs. It will probably save you from buying stuff that you didn't really need/want.

All modifications I’ve done started as we used it, as a result of learning that it would improve how WE use it. That thing will surprise you with its capabilities immediately. My advice is modify only what will improve YOUR use. That could be nothing, or it could be something. For a very inexpensive example, I didn’t get a shorty antenna because others did. I got one after the stock one kept hitting tree branches on trails. And it continued from there…

Lots of people will try to steer you in the direction they went. Do your research, ask questions, but go your route. Mine’s built differently than most, but is perfect for my uses. It wouldn’t be for others necessarily.

I agree with what most are saying, make it yours. It all depends what your looking for. I’ve been taking a phased approach. Phase 1 (basics) first purchases were Tazer Mini for Start/Stop disable and to prepare for future mods, tonneau cover for the truck bed, hotheads headliner for more comfortable sounding ride and NFAB Nerf Step for the wife to get in and out easier. Phase 2 (get naked), I added a Harken hoist to the garage so I could remove the top by myself in under 10 min and door hangers to drive it naked. At that point, I found I needed a bikini top to keep my daughter happy in the back seat. Now that I’ve had it for a little over a year, Phase 3 ($$ mods) I’m adding a lift kit and new tires.

Paint your grill insert to pick up the red in the tow hooks, Jeep badges, and decals!

It's very easy to remove it with a panel tool (don't use a screwdriver--it's too easy to scratch something). A couple of cans of Rustoleum Gloss Red peelable paint and BAM. It's like Plastidip, but the actual Plastidip brand red is pale and almost salmon-like; I tried it and the Rustoleum is much better. Easy afternoon project and if you don't like it, peel it off!
