Thought I’d throw my solution into the mix. I like the idea of having the ease of access of a permanent switch mount compressor but I also needed portable to use on my other truck (who‘s ARB is 27 yrs old, still running the locker) . I don’t want to tax the unit inflating tires.
So, I went with a Viair 300P, great unit , great price. I needed to keep it portable, so used Andersen connectors, 10g wire, and a 40A aux switch. Sourced the wire and connectors on Amazon, all in the setup cost $55. (+170. Viair). The wire was a great deal, 10’, 10g with Andersen connections & conduit cover. Took the extra Andersen connector, cut and soldered onto the alligator clamps from the Viair.
Everything fits perfectly behind the left rear seat, in what looks like a “custom “ tray, with a velcro strap and cleat to hold it in place. Pretty easy install, only difficulty was fishing the wire under the carpet to the dash.

Thank you for your quick response.
I’d like to get your dual ARB, behind-the-seat setup, with 1-a power switch and the air connections for two double hoses all behind the seat too. One set for the left airing and one for the right. 2-What would be sweet if there is a switch on the ARB or your setup where a preset pressure could be set, and then it kicks off. If that’s too much, just a gauge that monitors the pressure in real time that can me visually watched and then just manually turn the compressor off would be fine. 3-is it possible to add a steel plate between the compressor and the truck? To serve as a heat shield.
I hope that isn’t too much of an order. I greatly appreciate your help.

Hey Bob, ARB has their pressure regulator system that works with the ARB twin. It may get tight, but it may mount on the plate under the air couplers. The pressure regulator is Bluetooth. The compressor plate is designed with a built-in back which is what the compressor mounts to be it also serves as a heat shield. You could go one step farther and add a sticky-backed heat shield to the mount. I can put together a custom quote for the mount and dual air coupler setup if you need me to. Message me direct and we can start from there.

Thanks!
Jeremy

I sent you a message through the forum. Can you share an email? Btw, this Kracken setup is nice

I was literally just figuring all this out last night for my smittybilt 2781. That says max amp draw 45amps, your Viair 300P says max 30amps.
I had bought some 10g anderson leads just like yours a while ago with intention of making some quick disconnects, but never had the time to cut up my smittybilt cords.
I was looking through all the stuff last night, and since the Smittybilt says higher amp draw I didn't feel comfortable using the 10g leads and ordered some heavier gauge wire/anderson plugs. Not sure what I'm gonna use the 10g leads for now.:headbang:

I could not find anywhere that said what gauge the stock smittybilt wires are, but I ordered 6 gauge as overkill.

I'll second the Smitty... better CFM than the ARB at less than 1/2 the price. I don't know why this isn't more popular for aftermarket kits, other than the size? The chuck is a Japanese (I think) standard for some reason, but there are a handful of YT videos on how to easily modify it for standard 1/4" stuff for about $2.00.
Something I read last night somewhere said they put the japanese style on there so people couldn't plug other attachments on and make it a closed system, since the pump can't handle running like that.

Yeah, the compressor has a low duty cycle. And they use some type of metric fittings.

Can’t go wrong with bigger. The Viair came with 12g wire on the alligator clamps, so I figured 10g would be fine, those Andersen‘s are good to 45a I think, but yeah can’t handle 6g wire.
Good luck with your set-up, so far mine is working well.
