It was and is all I hoped for. Now the only problem is I’m almost 1500 miles from home and they are talking about the kind of storm we never see in Oklahoma. If it hits before I get far enough away to miss it, I’m definitely going to take a nap!

Here’s the obligatory new to me Jeep picture!

I also opted for a white diesel Ruby, love it.

I don't know about the rest of these yahoos, but I want a pic from the rear quarter. Not the front quarter.

Congratulations, you'll love it.

Depends on what time you head back home. You might catch the western edge of the storm.
I didn’t get as far as I would have liked only made it 275 miles before lack of sleep got the best of me. I’m about to lay down and try to get some sleep but it may take a little while to relax. Looking at the map I should be ok. It was 38 and starting to mist when I pulled in to the hotel but my phone says it is supposed to get into the 50s here tomorrow so hopefully I’m ok.

Looks great, congrats on finding your Jeep. Now get rolling so you have a better chance of missing the storm. Also, as I said before check the DEF level to ensure they filled it up before you leave.
Thank you I love it. Your advice about DEF sure helped. They filled it with diesel but when I checked the DEF it was well below half so they topped it off too.

Bring in a hurry to head home I didn’t want to go out of the way but about 50 miles down the road I found an auto zone and bought a couple small bottles of hot shots and a bottle of Rislone 4784 Crystal Clean. I put them in when I filled up before coming to the hotel.

With very little wind today and on the stock AT3 Wildpeaks, it averaged 28.7 going 275 miles. I’ve driven a couple diesel JTs but never for this long. The power is amazing and for me this was a much better choice than a Hemi swap.

Have to agree with the diesel over hemi swap. They make the same torque and the buy in is a whole lot cheaper. Fuel economy is a huge bonus too.

My thought exactly. I’d love to have a hemi powered Gladiator and hopefully we will see one eventually but for my use, the diesel seems ideal.

The trip home from Delaware ended up being 1524 miles so I got plenty of time behind the wheel and saw a lot of country. No complaint at all about the power of the diesel. I had adaptive cruise set at speeds from 40 all the way up to 90 for a few minutes in Arkansas and it never had any trouble jumping right back up to speed when the lane opened up. For the entire drive I ended up averaging 24.2 mpg. The wind for the last 800 miles on the interstate was out of the north west and according to my watch was blowing 15 to 18 mph every time I checked. It didn’t push the diesel around as much as I’m used to in the blue one but the mileage dropped and had settled just over 23 when I got off the interstate. For the last 60 miles I was going south and the tailwind pushed it back up over 24.

Something I’ll mention because it was unexpected and helped the mileage. The tires were at 38 psi cold when I picked it up. I decided to drive it a little to see how bad it was with the AT3s that firm. It wasn’t rough at all and no wandering so I never dropped the pressure. I’ll chalk test it in a few days but do any of y’all run the psi that high?

Yep. Mine has the original tires (55k miles) and I run them at the 37psi factory spec, no issues or complaints.

I liked 33/32 cold, on my JTRD. I put 40k on a set before going to 35s. I put my originals on the wife's JLURD and she's put another 20k on them at the same pressure. They should easily last her until next fall.

Question about the DEF tank. My gauge had dropped about 40% when I filled up after driving approx 1,200 miles. I bought a jug and it took around 2 gallons to fill it back up which was about what I expected. What seemed odd is that it took a couple hours of driving before the gauge showed the DEF tank back to full. It was moving just extremely slowly. I added a bottle of Rislone 4784 after the dealer topped off the tank. Does this sound like a crystallization problem or does it usualy take a while before the gauge shows full again?
