Dealer isn't going to have that information unless they find a comparable truck, same or similar options and check the numbers on it. It's a combination of options, not that each option is worth xx pounds.

If I was towing and hauling fishing gear and with me and the stuff, tongue weight and all, I was within a few pounds I'd not get excited about it. Hundreds over, I'd think again, but not for pocket change.

The dealer won't be of any real help here, unfortunately.
I wish they would of just told me that out of the gate Instead of promising me it would be 1200 plus. I really want one of these trucks but I wouldn’t of signed up for a 12-15 week wait without a truck and went a different direction. I’m almost 6 weeks in now so I guess time will tell…I believe I’ll slow down on buying accessories until it gets here and I know for sure where it’s rated and go on a diet :CWL:

You're not the first, bnor will you be the last to be over promised and under delivered. That's why it's good to see people come on here and ask questions before they order and then realizing that the information they have been told or led to believe is not always true.

I haven’t configured my truck with anything but a bedliner so my payload should still be 1200lbs but I bet it’s not when I get it, so yeah that number is deceiving
Bedliner is probably the heaviest option available aside from steps and AT tires. I was told Line-X for my bed weighs about 40lbs by the shop if not more because they go a little thicker on the floor and tailgate. Jeep's version is probably lighter to a degree but you're still losing enough you'll have a reduced number.

And again, the payload on your door jamb is 100% meaningless; it's just a calculation of GVWR - curb weight - options done at the factory and it's there for guidance for people who hate math. The real limit is that GVWR so if you really care that much (I know I did after adding mods and had to tow heavy across country) then go to a CAT scale and get weighed up.

Naw. How often do I need to haul over 1,000 pounds?
But for those questioning the payload of these - they're looking a the wrong truck.
Mine tows and hauls fine. And when not hauling or towing, gets good mpg and has a nice ride.
Pick what's most important, right?
I was referring to the wider axles for the max total give you a better ride over the railroad tracks.

The only time wider would really matter would be when loaded to the max for payload or towing - .5% of my driving?

If I could get the Overland with a wide axle option and keep everything else about it I might be interested. That's why I was looking at the HA for a while. But the wider axles just weren't enough to make any real difference. We're talking only 1.5" total width.
I didn't feel that the wider axles would actually make a difference on 99% of all driving. It would only matter when the truck was loaded, and then on tracks I don't take often.
Do you buy for less than a fraction of 1% of all driving, or the majority of driving? Hmmmmm.

So you'd buy to get one thing but give up several others, and that one thing is only a difference under a fraction of your driving?
The ride would be worse than stock Overland in normal conditions, the mpg would be worse under normal conditions, and some options would not be available...... no thanks.

The Overland, stock, actually has a beautiful ride over tracks, when not fully loaded. Putting max tow springs under it gave it a rougher ride. So that tells me the Overland choice was good for normal driving.
