Does anyone know the reason why they leak? Bad part? Problem in the axle housing? The same guy installing seals wrong at the factory???

No. It just appears this is pretty wide spread and I simply wish Jeep would acknowledge instead of acting surprised. Be great if they would issue a TSB, but I'm sure they won't do that until they have a firm solution.

I’ve got an appointment tomorrow for this. I noticed mine leaking last week. 12.5k miles build date march-21. Winner winner chicken dinner.

What’s the repair? Just pull the axle and new seals?

I wonder if it has to do with LSD? Do the limited slip axel have more issues? Built in one batch maybe?

18,500 miles on mine. No noticeable leak. I suppose it COULD have already happened and been repaired since I bought mine with a bit over 15,000 miles on it.

My dealer ordered a new seal. Odd considering others are getting new axle shafts. .

I'm glad I saw this thread, otherwise I wouldn't have ever looked!

I have 2021 JTRD with a 12/20 build date. The irritating thing is I just took it on Tuesday for it's first oil change, tire rotation, and their "Multi-Point Inspection" that was supposed to catch any potential oil leaks (I asked them to look at the oil residue collecting around the t-case and transmission mating surfaces). I received a clean bill of health with no problems or leaks... So irritating!

What say you guys about this spot? I believe I fall into the build dates range. Did anyone with this issue experience it causing a knocking noise?

@glassjawkid32 If I look at your interior tire sidewall, it look likes some fluid already splash on it.

Latest build date we've seen so far is 5-26-21.

Mine was built 5-27-21. I'm working toward 7,000 on the odometer now and I've towed pretty heavy with the truck and I have zero axle leaks. Bone dry.

I will mention that literally as soon as I pulled into the driveway after taking delivery of mine, I modified the vent tube cap to allow easier flow of pressure. Is that why I have no leak? Can't say, but it sure didn't hurt. The rear vent tube is plugged up like a wine bottle on these things from the factory. Ridiculous.
