Wonder if there is a TSB on this. Loose steering at highway speeds.

Off road shops are about to sell out of heavy duty tie rods.
Worse the rack also failed. Can't even just beef up the tie rods as they're already strong enough to break the steering rack. Also saw that the dealer denied warranty on any of it cause of scratches on the skid plates lol. Dudes out 2k

He probably just needs to run at a lower tire pressure. Should clear up the wander.

Will watch to see if there is more reports of this steering setup as a weak spot. At least on the JT with the weak spot as the steering knuckle you can get a cast iron one and stronger ball joints. If the Bronco is going to need a new rack and tie rods and CVs to handle big tires on big rocks, maybe Ford just built a fat pig desert runner.

Yes, yes! Nothing ever fails with Jeeps… Please ignore the endless threads here! But can the Bronco run through mud without a total electronic meltdown?

That tie rod is skinny looking! It looks like it is only 1/2-5/8" diameter. I skimmed through the Bronco forum thread and one member said that not even a stock jeep could make it up that obstacle without breaking something.

According to that forum all jeeps are still jk's and must be on tons to run 37's. Also jeeps are dangerously unstable above 25 mph and unable to cruise on the highway.

Honestly I wouldnt be surprised if thats what they were trying to build. The design clearly borrows heavily from their raptor style of off-roading and IFS is really made for that. Now before someone comes off to spout how KOH is won by ifs, its won by ifs because of the desert runner portions and the high speed stuff, not because its prefered on the crawling sections. If ford is really serious about making a rubicon competitor its gonna have to take lessons learned and really beef up the suspension and components instead of parts binning (the current rack is the one off the f150).

I'm wondering if this was the result of a jump / catching air on more than one occasion? Still a horrible failure, but anything will break if you absue it enough.

Edit: Disregard, it appears it was attempting quite the obstacle (per the previously posted link on the Bronco forum). More than I'd attempt on purpose.

Silly people. All along you thought IFS was independent front suspension.

IFS = Independent front steering
IFS= Inferior Front Suspension

You all do realize that that failure has nothing to do with IFS. Right?
