Looking for a little help: I'm having 37 inch tires put on Friday, but not regearing for a couple months. Do I need the computer recalibrated for the bigger tires right away? If so am I better off waiting to do the tires and regear at the same time cuz its gotta be recalibrated again after the regear? Don't wanna pay twice:)

You are going to need something anyways. A JScan, AlfaOBD or Tazer. All of those will do tire size and gear ratio. You won't need to pay twice. Might as well get it now and you will have it for the regear. If you don't reset the tire size, the speedo will be off and possibly could have issues with the transmission shifting at the right time.

If you don't want the additional features of the Tazer, then the cost is about the same for either JScan or AlfaOBD. You need a smartphone, a Bluetooth dongle, a software license for either and a security bypass or extension cable. JScan is about $25 for 1 vehicle license and is coupled to your Jeep. AlfaODB is about $50 but is good for multiple vehicles.

JScan appears to be a bit easier to use and the developers are faster on the updates but Alfa has more capabilities.

Do you happen to know the difference between the taser mini and the taser mini light besides the $100 difference in price?

People Work?
ECRI will do your tire sizes and your gears, and more.
It can calibrate the speedometer on the fly, but it seems to be tricky at times.
I simply measured ground to center of hub and then multiplied X2 to input the size manually.

I have 37's and use a Tazer. I used a Garmin to compare both speed and distance. I ended up setting the tire size to 36.33".

Man Wish I saw this chart before I went Jscan route. I would have got the Lite and upgraded to get the other features when needed/wanted. OBD/Jscan still half the price but kowing you could upgrade may have swayed me.

I have had alfaOBD for years , used it on a couple Rams and now the 22 Gladiator . Can't find anything the others do that Alfa won't for my needs . Check out Ram forum for a much longer list of what it will do
