I squirted about 1/2 tube of GE RTV (black) in the gap around the top and sides of the window. So far, so good. It's been in there 2-3 months now.

my 2020 is leaking. I thought i had noticed it a long time ago and reported it to the dealership a while back who was supposed to contact me back. I didnt notice it anymore and forgot about it all. Now its been raining a couple days and ive been driving in it, and yep water dripping every few mins. I got back there with my phone light and looked. There are several small cracks in the trim around the window in the hard plastic looking stuff. Is that what is causing it??

Yes, that plastic track on the inside of the window routes the water to drain. My guess (design engineer here) is since the plastic is attached to the window and they expand at different amounts with heat cycles it cracks the plastic at various spots along its length. I don't believe it's been redesigned yet by MOPAR engineers, so replacing the window assembly is just starting a new timer til failure again.

Yep, seems to be most common in climates that freeze. My 2 frames that broke appeared to start leaking during the cold of winter.

And yet - my 2nd JT sits in my garage (UNHEATED, uninsulated) here in Iowa, and so far, no leaks My first one never leaked in the 2.5 years and 27,000 miles I owned it.

Mine sits outside, so the freezing water in the rear glass channel likely did it no favors. We’ll see how this winter goes now that I have the vacuum hose sealing that channel.

Well if it leaks while parked in your garage you really have problems ;)

HAHA
(garages of the past it was entirely possible)

point is - even when it's inside, it's not climate controlled and gets freezing.
Sometimes it's outside, sometimes in rain, other times playing in the snow.

It gets wet, it gets washed, it's in 100 degree heat, it's in 0 or sub-zero cold, it gets frozen, it gets covered with snow, salt, mud, whatever and so far, so good.

(Might need to take up that knocking on corn offer, though)

Can you discuss or show your vacuum hose idea? Mine also is leaking now.
Thanks

My frame was found cracked. I believe the dealer filled it with black RTV. The next guy will have a fit trying to clean it up. That guy may be me unfortunately. No leaks, however.
