I think the additional seal will help given the poor design of the rear window. Took my JT through an automatic car wash to confirm no leaks. Happy to report all is good.
Is the seal flush against the truck on the bottom corners for you?

anyone else getting a 'sizzling' noise when the rear window defogger gets turned on?? sounds like it could be arcing or possible water vaporising. Happens when the rear window pisses on the inside. Man, fuck this rear window bullshit. been going through it ever since my 08 JKUR.

yeah - don't use defroster when your truck pisses itself. Go get the vacuum hose and be done with it.

I had no idea what everyone was talking about... thank goodness I only had to go back 7 pages to find the vacuum hose info... did you use this in conjunction with the permatex?

Yes the seal sits flush and recessed all around the window. Looks factory.
Yea well I took mine back. They have it now and have the glass company coming back out tomorrow. They bent the brackets up top down instead of up and “lost” the rubber pieces that go between them. So it sounds like they will be once again replacing it. The seal (which the dealer swears is factory now) is not contacting the two bottom corners of the window. Plus they are looking at my obnoxious steering wheel shimmy (not calling it death wobble) when I hit rough patches going over 65mph

The vacuum hose method isn’t a permanent fix for everyone. I tried the hose route first as have others with mixed results. If the window frame has already developed the hairline cracks it will continue to leak.

I've got beyond hairline cracks. 4 of them. Total separation. No leaks after installing the hose. It doesn't matter if there are cracks. If the hose seals against the hardtop and against the glass = it can't leak. It bridges the gap. It is physically impossible to leak if the glass is sealed against the hardtop via the hose.

If yours leaked after installing the hose, you didn't get it right and had a gap somewhere.

I think some manufacturers are using robotic to apply sealant and install the glass for this reason.

Pulled my upper trim off today (note, missing a few clips and one broken tab, guessing from prior repair as it was loose when I grabbed it). Pretty sure I have a crack pretty much dead center in the top of the window frame. Looks just like a molding line, but that is where the water stains are, so pretty sure that’s the problem spot. Noticed the carpet and back seat smell musty as well. Thanks Jeep for fixing this last year. F’in joke!

yeah it's a joke. My leak just kept getting worse and worse until my rage yesterday. I've got the vacuum hose on the way from china now so we'll see.

Has anyone considered the rear sub shaking the window seals loose? Seems like the rattling from the back window area has gotten worse lately as well when I'm blasing Master P

Well, add me to the leaking rear window club, conveniently just out of my 3 yr warranty this January ?.

@JeepCares, is there any hope on covering this repair?
