Just had a few days of occasional gentle sprinkles, but the 1/4" automotive weather strip from the hardware store is holding so far.

We just had an hour of steady, hard rain and it's dry. For those that may have missed some of the videos. Hi, I had a leak in the rear window on my 2022 Mojave, dealer sent it to a local glass shop, they botched it, put in an aftermarket replacement, also botched it, I am so disappointed that I had them order another glass (aftermarket of course) currently waiting for that, I have made arrangements to have another glass shop install it, the thing that ticks me off is I’m getting a lower quality glass, it’s going to cost me out of pocket for something that should have been factory parts, and my dealer should have handled the whole process, after the first glass I was told that it was up to me. I don’t know if I should contact Jeep cares.

Jeep doesn't care. If they did they'd revise the window or install it properly.

I am on my 3rd rear glass now. And its leaking. The plastic framing around it gets micro cracks in it and it seeps water. I pulled the top trim off of my hardtop and could see the crack in mine. What I ended up doing was get some permatex flowable silicone sealant. It only comes in 3 oz tubes i think and i bought 3 of them to do the top of the windshield channel. I am not taking mine back to have them screw up another piece of glass. The permatex sealed it up and no more leaks! Its an option to look at. Only thing i'm a little worried about and will watch is how long the silicone will last. If it starts leaking again i'll just clean it out and redo it.

All the rain here in CA has resulted in me joining the leaky window club. Only 26k miles on my 2020 but no more warranty. Sounds like some weather strip is the way to go. Silicone will eventually degrade and leak and can be a PITA to remove.

That is my only concern. I tried the weatherstrip also and still had leaking though. I also bought some urethane window sealant I may try from 3M. I guess time will tell on how long the silicone holds up.

auto manufacturing needs to change from company product focused to consumer focused... other industries have shifted to do so
