@RSI North America Inc @OffroadAlliance.com is there any update for those with bins on order? I was told 10-21 days about 50 days ago. My interior bed build is on hold until this bin arrives.

Appreciate any guidance here. Great to see cap inventory is catching up; but haven’t seen much on the bins.

If you ordered from us, PM me your name and/or order number. I can try and find out an updated ETA for you.

I emailed RSI directly. I ordered mine last July. I was told last week that they are expected in May..... so we will see. I ordered through my local shop.

does anyone have an height opening size of the RSI cap when the tailgate and the cap are both open?

I'm looking to see if mountain bikes on a slider drawer will fit.

Again, looking for the total opening measurement from the tallest part of the bed to the shortest part of the hinged cap opening.

In my mind, it should be about 40", but I may be incorrect.

34 1/8” from top of bed rib to bottom of door gasket which is lowest part. I posted it some where in here months ago. How many spacers you have can change this a bit, but I have about 9/16” of spacers I think.....Jack

Got my RSI Smartcap yesterday and overall happy with it. It looks great and cleans up the lines of the JT. Few small issues - a scratch on the inside that they clearly attempted to paint over (matte black spray paint poorly done), and two small scratches on the rear cap that were touched up.

The functional issues that I’m currently experiencing and need to get resolved:
- The dreaded rear height problem. Even though I had an Evo A, and thought it would have the new spacers, it still only came with the 10mm spacers which crush down too much and cause it to be excessively tight at the back gate seal area.

- The clamps for the trail rail seem to be wrong. Pics attached, but they were too wide to fit into the mopar trail rail system. I had to grind them down to fit into the slot, and even then they wouldnt’ clear the bolt heads to slide along the rail. Ended up removing the bolts to get it all installed. Ideally I’d like clamps that fit.

Pics of the truck and clamp issue. Including a pic of the Mopar tie-down size for reference. Now I just need my Clayton lift to get here!!

You might contact RSI to make sure you got the right rail clamps. I did not have any issue with mine. I did have to insert them using the cutout at the very front of the rail and then slide them back to the proper position.

I have not had time to install them, yet, but I bought some of these to try under the rear corners. They were mentioned in one of the previous posts.

Yeah, I already contacted my dealer about the clamps. I’m assuming I got the wrong ones as well, but after getting my wife/kids to help get it on the truck I didn’t want to deal with taking it off. So I modified these to fit for the time being.

I ordered some 3/4” thick 70/60/50 durometer rubber from McMaster as well. Should be here on Monday, so we’ll see if one of those work. If so, it comes in 36” strips so I can put it along the entire rail. We’ll see.

On December 17th, 2020 RSI North America stated they were actively sourcing PROPER spacers to solve what one can only surmise is a stupid error. Now, Almost 5 months later they are still shipping these caps without PROPER spacers.
@RSI North America Inc - DO BETTER. Ship the caps with the PROPER items to do a PROPER install.

Funny on the spacer note. I had talked to the rep here on the forum and they had confirmed the RSI was now including a larger spacer with the Gladiator shells and to email customer support to get new ones. I emailed customer support and they said the exact opposite. They said they will not be having new spacers included and claimed to have not known about the issue. After some back and forth and pictures sent he finally sent me another set of the current spacers to double up. I'm trying to get them in this weekend to see if that solves it.

Anybody tried to take their hardtop off with the cap on? I have a hoist but my old method of raising it up involved sliding the top onto the bed rails and lifting from there so I need to revise my setup a bit.

I have done it when the truck was on factory suspension and factory wheels/tires. It required two people, one on each side. Now that the truck is lifted and on 37s I'm not sure how that could be done without ladders or a hoist.

Never thought I’d be a fan of it but the factory soft top is ideal with a cap on. Won’t look so silly resting up top anymore. Maybe I’ll try to get my hands on one for summers.

For anyone having trouble sliding the trail rail clamps over the OEM torx bolts, it's a good excuse to dump those and go with a proper bolt. I replaced the bolts with these and feel more comfortable getting them torqued down properly and the clamps slide over without any issue. The integrated washer is larger than the OEM and requires a bit of maneuvering to get the bolt aligned but otherwise all good.

So I ordered my RSI Evo Sport on 3/13 from Northridge 4x4 and was told then the lead time was 30 days. I’m now at nearly 60 days and nobody has any idea when the cap will ship. I reached out to Northridge 4x4 a few times and they keep telling me they will check on it (but never get back to me). Today I called Keystone, the US distributor, and they tell me the last RSI shipment was received in March and it is currently on back order. I recognize that Northridge and Keystone are not at fault here and it really falls on RSI to be more transparent in terms of the shipment plan. I paid in full in March using Affirm and have already made a couple payments - not a big deal, but adds to the frustration. I know the Sportcap is a great product, but with the rubber shim issue and the lack of effective communication on the shipping plan, I can only say, RSI you can do better. Anyone else experiencing similar challenges?
