Rugged Ridge Voyager Soft top

I purchased this Rugged Ridge Voyager top a few days ago so I figured I would give a brief write up on it just in case anyone else is considering buying it.

I ordered the top directly from rugged ridge and got a $100 mail in rebate. Upon opening the box I was less then thrilled with the initial quality of the product. It has some plastic parts that I wasn’t too fond of.

Putting the top on the first time is a pain in the ass and took me about 3 hours and a 12 pack. The frame of the top feels week until it is mounted to the jeep then it feel solid.

Once it’s all mounted up and the pieces all come together it looks way nicer then the factory soft top. I’m still working on getting the top to fit exactly how I want. It’s going to take a few adjustments to get it to fit perfectly. But overall I’m happy with the product.

I didn’t get any pictures of how it looks with the whole top off but it looks a lot cleaner then the MOPAR top. I like how the top fold ontop of of itself. Anyone who is considering buying a sun rider might want to consider the voyager top instead. It’s the same price and is way more functional.

It started to rain the day I put it on, but I’ll get better pictures soon.

i don’t have one but I’ve followed other threads about it. Word from Rugged Ridge seems to be technically no, it is not rated for that. But if you strap the middle fold down tight people have done it with no problems.

Yes. You can fold it over the rear seats. It doesn’t need any additional straps. It designed for the back to fold under the front. It even has a designated space for the window and side panels to be placed when the top is folded.

Yes. It can be removed and stored inside of the top of its folded. Or it comes with a storage bag if you want to store it behind the rear seats.

It’s starting to smooth out now that is been out of the bag for a while. It’s the same material as the one soft top. But I agree it’s not the most beautiful piece of the top.

It rained all night last night and I didn’t get one drop of water on the inside. I’m overall really impressed with the top. I was able to take some more pictures today.

Thank you for the write up/review. I have been leaning towards this top for a while, and most of the folks that I have seen on here like it a lot. Now I just need my jeep to get here and to pay off some of the parts that are sitting in the garage waiting just as impatiently as me.

i had just installed mine yesterday, picked it up off of marketplace. well worth $725. its just like any other soft top i have owned to be honest. I own a TJ had a YJ so wind noise isnt nothing.

I purchased mine about a month ago from @RealTruck. He was running a forum special on this top. Not sure if he is still running that offer, but you could message him to ask.

I was really unsure about ordering this top, but with his forum special price and also getting the $100 Rugged Ridge rebate at the time I couldn't pass it up. I figured I could break even selling it locally if I hated it.

The installation instructions are horrible, but if you take your time to think about it or have had other Jeep tops it is easy enough to figure out.

I ran the top with the rear folded under the front above the soundbar all last week while at the beach. Even a short ride on the highway at 60 -65 with the top folded under. I wouldn't ride it for an extended time with the back folded under on the highway unless I strapped both sides down around the soundbar.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase, but I sometimes miss my mesh sunshade that I kept in place under the hardtop and freedom panels.
