Are you serious? People get the manual because they like to drive a manual. Hopefully that clears it up for you.

Your line of thinking is like “I don’t understand why people don’t just get a Prius instead of a Jeep: it’s quieter on the road and gets better gas mileage”. True, but not the same experience is it? You wanted a gladiator and the auto was a good fit for your needs. I wanted a manual mid-size truck. Obviously the auto would not fulfill that need.

(I also have a Prius, so put away your pitchforks).

Getting so tired of the “I don’t understand why someone would like something different from what I like” crowd.
Yup. I knew of the MT issues before I ordered, yet I still ordered it anyways. Took the $2k I saved over the AT and put that towards a clutch/install, and its essentially a wash. The transmission itself has had zero issues, AFAIK; its the clutch that's the problem. Centerforce and ACT solved this problem for us.

Yea, the towing is derated, but its still more than capable for anything I tow.

Plus, its a blast to drive.

I'm not sure, there is definitely something going on behind the scenes. Last week my dealer told me that the tentative ship date on my truck was 11/2 (and it flipped to scheduled on 9/22 obviously after the strike started)
People that think their dealer knows their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to manufacturing schedules (let alone the details of behind-the-scenes union negotiations) hit me up, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

I didn't say he had any insight into union negotiations, I simply stated that after the strike started on 9/15, my order flipped to scheduled on 9/22 and then on 9/28 out of the blue, my dealer emailed me said that an estimated ship date of 11/2 was set from what he could see. Once the strike started, I had zero expectations of any movement on my order, zero, zilch, nada. Coupled with my experience thus far and the order progression with many other individuals here and on the JL forum, it seems to me that there's more going on than what is out there. They still seem to be shipping and delivering vehicles, status are changing and other various dates are being provided. Obviously they're not operating anywhere near normal capacity, but it seems clear to me that they are not exactly entirely dead in the water as one would believe and must have some level of confidence or line of sight as to when they expect negotiations to conclude. That said, everyone's entitled to their opinion, guess we'll see how it plays out. Doesn't really matter to me, I'm not really in any rush.

How long can Stellantis postpone the fix and dodge NHTSA? Is anyone aware of any class action lawsuits on this? Should have opted for the automatic, current 6spd is absolute garbage, and the clutch issue is an icing the shit cake. I used to be save the manuals guy, always had a stick shift car in the house since I could remember, at this point my next truck/car will be an auto unless it is a 911.

Seems all it took was 3 letters to the NHTSA to get an initial investigation going against Ford's engine s. Who wants to write one with me regarding this clutch?

Great, so now even if the clutch recall is fixed, I still wont be able to pick it up. Even tho I'm getting it for a steal, I'm not even sure waiting on it is even worth it anymore :headbang:

That’s great. Did you log in and look to see the status for yourself online?

You ordered on 8/9 I’m assuming it’s a 23 model and not a 24?

Ordered a 24 model rubicon on 9/30 and sitting at D1 currently and also considering on a 23 Mojave if they fix the recall first or my rubicon x price is crazy high…

Yes it is a 2023. Me logging in still only shows "order confirmed" with no build date. Just going by personal update from my dealer.

Got yah I’ve been on Jeeps site and all the others hoping for a update lol or heck just a price ?
I’m doubtful they are building due to strike but maybe they are in limited capacity.

Same for me. A few weeks back my dealer randomly reached out to me back on 9/28 and said the tentative ship date was 11/2. I was cautiously optimistic and still am. From what I gather on here with the experiences people have shared, it seems once production starts it only takes 2-3 days to produce. My 11/2 ship date led me to believe that they were hoping to be back in business on or around 10/27 (If the ship date provided to my dealer was purposely generated and not the result of some sort of automated snafu.).

That said, with the latest strike expansion today against Stellantis, that 11/2 date is quickly turning from a hope to a pipe dream LOL. But as I keep saying, as long as my Punk'n gets built and delivered to my hands, I could care less about how long it takes.
