Was in Iowa city for 7th time, out of it waiting for another surgery to clean up the seeping, unhealed surgical site from October 10th when our vet called - the test results for Pickle were not good, indicating cancer had reached his lungs.
The ISU vet consult agreed the eye issue looked like lymphoma.
So in the middle of my going through surgery again, and getting back home late last night, looks like we are losing a 2nd kitty in less than a month. I get rolled into surgery literally after getting the news on Pickle's xray and blood lab results and the vet consults.
Tuvak died November 16th, the day before Barbara's birthday, and now Pickle.
The vet said that there was little that could be done except MAYBE, if it even worked, maybe making him feel better for a few days, maybe a couple of weeks - if it worked.
But they believe the lymphoma to be systemic, the eye situation just a symptom along with his no longer being able to jump up onto chairs easily, losing his balance while getting off my lap.............
He's obviously not himself and a lot weaker feeling, wobbly and all.
So the hard decision has been made for later today. 2 weeks and 2 days after the loss of Tuvak, a favorite sweety, my little buddy, we'll be saying goodbye to another perfect cat. It all had to happen right in the middle of all of the crap going on with my multiple surgeries and other medical appointments.
I already feel like shit, can't do anything - put on restrictions all over again meaning no doing anything for another 4-6 weeks, and can't even dig a hole to bury one of my favorite kitties.
Right now, the world sucks. Bone spur broken on in thumb joint, ortho appointment for that (the only fix will be surgical - they'd better not even think of "we'll fix it with pain meds and PT" or they might hear what I really think right now)
Oh, and I am supposed to be stripping Barbara's JLU down for trading in - removing the window up module and the handle I added so she can reach and pull down the rear glass - everything all at once. but wait, there's more -
And trying to get a plumber in here to add UV filters for the bacteria in our water - that's a total cluster as so few know their ass from a hole in the ground on wells and water filtration.................
