I’ll add too, I took 4 other people, so five of us total, all adults haha, and our luggage, to Disney World a few months ago, a 900 mile round trip. I’m 6’2 and 210, my son 6’3.5, 210, my DIL 6’, and two more smaller adults, but average size. Everyone was surprised how comfortable we were, and the Alpine system provided great music and podcasts. Full size trucks have gotten almost ridiculously big imo. This thing is plenty big enough for trips imo. Just get a bed cover that doesn’t let rain in on your luggage and you’re good to go. I absolutely love this thing, have put nearly 20k miles on it in a year, and it’s been up and down the east coast. Get yourself a loaded Mojave, great ride, looks, and style. Again, just my 2 cents.

If by new Tundra you mean a 2022, I'd go Gladiator. The shift to the V6 turbo is already causing problems for Toyota. Bunch of owners already needing turbos replaced due to bad waste gate. If it was 2019/2020 with a V8, I'd go with Tundra due to the truck most likely lasting longer.

As others have wrote, it's best to test drive - unfortunately finding some models to test drive can be challenging today....
If you're looking at midsize - My vote is a JT Rubicon Diesel - Great power, decent mileage, Capabilities beyond any Toyota.
If you're looking at full-size, there are lots of options...

We just finished a 1250 mile road trip to Utah via NV and AZ, from CA. We saw two new Tundras, my wife was really disturbed by the look.

Check out an F150 Tremor. I just ordered one to either add to or replace my gladiator. Im a Toyota guy but the new Tundra seems off to me...

Agreed. But don't forget the ace-in-the-hole. The doors come off on the gladiator.
I‘ve never once take the doors off my Jeep and likely never will. I couldn’t give a shit less about that. The truck itself and its off road capabilities are what attract me to it.

I was never really a pickup truck person before. I got the gladiator because I had a Wrangler before, and this one has a bed, which is very nice. So the full convertible/doors-off thing helped to sway me in the direction of the gladiator over the Tacoma. That, and interior space. Honestly, if I hadn't have gotten the gladiator, I'd have gotten the Bronco. I wanted off-road, manual/open tub/convertible, small-ish. The gladiator is actually a bit large for me. So I would not have bought it if the doors (and roof) didn't come off. But, hey, they did something right. They got both of us. I'm glad I did. I like having a bed. The versatility and fun make this my favorite vehicle I've ever owned.

I’m in the same boat. The doors will likely not be removed from mine. I don’t need water bottles and pup-cups flying out of the vehicle (no matter how thorough I am at cleaning out a vehicle, there’s at least one more pup-cup back there somewhere).?

I'm currently driving a 2008 Tundra bought new in 2008. It's a great vehicle with 168,000 miles and no probs. But not amused with Toyota's consumer tricks on new vehicles with the pay for services models. Plan to buy a Jeep Glad vs other.

MAN!

I forgot about this stuff. How vehicle manufacturers are looking to go to a monthly fee structure for stuff like proximity locks and auto lights. Dirty AF is toyota is already doing this.

can’t speak to kids but I’m the same height and the Gladiator is fine for me. Would I mind a couple more clicks on the seat rails for a touch more legroom? No. But it’s a very comfy truck.

I've owned a ton of Jeeps(every iteration of wrangler except YJ) and I've owned two Tundras and a Sequoia. My wife and I are taller than most couples, and the Tundras have fit our 3 kids and us very well. Saying that, we fit fine in our Gladiator and have done multiple 7 hour one way trips in it. If I needed something for extended highway time(80% or greater) or towed something over 7K pounds frequently, I would get another Tundra in a heartbeat. I prefer the Tundra over all other pickups in that category. We have a '22 Pathfinder for highway duties and hauling 8 people, so our Gladiator is straight fun and utility.
