unfortunately yes. I learned last week that they opened a department specifically for this recall and there are rumblings that Jeep is starting to provide rentals.
Well that last part is good to hear for sure - a department and rentals! (not that yours is involved - not glad to hear that at all)

I have a 3.6 JT and a 4xe JLU.
When that JLU is in 4HA, the torque is crazy and INSTANT. There's no winding up RPM, no waiting - it will plant you back in the seat.

With the transfer case in 2H, torque is limited so it's not quite as strong, but still - you can beat some pretty good vehicles on a drag strip with a 4xe.
The HP and torque ratings are higher than a 5.7 if I recall correctly.
MPG blows a gladiator away in the type of driving the OP would be doing.

It's also amazing in rough terrain - instant constant torque to get over things. It will whomp a 3.6 off-road. Check some of the videos out there.
I’ve never driven the 3.6 to compare but the 4xe gets up and goes when you need to to

LOL - they do for sure. Shortly after we got ours, my wife was driving us to church - thinking we were running late she took off from a stop sign like she might when driving mine or her prior Grand Cherokee - snapped me back in my seat and she even made a comment "this thing goes, doesn't it?!"

Interesting. A corporate guy at work had one as a rental while in town. He let me drive it back from lunch. I gave it the beans / the floor a couple times and just wasn't feeling it. I think the battery was flat because the gas engine stayed on constantly.

The four cylinder on its own was totally unremarkable. With a hot battery maybe it will show me up.

We are talking taking a driving trip down to your state - but my wife said - only if we take my JT. Otherwise, we'd be down there with her 4xe and there'd be your chance. But she said never again, not that many miles on her Jeep.
Hah! I love putting miles on my toys. Hope yall enjoy the visit. If yall want any recommendations for anything at that point, let me know. I might be able to help.

Probably in FORM mode - bummer, because otherwise it would have been a better tell of what they can be like.

The Mojave is not going to get 19mpg - more like 16-17mpg.
Having said that, the Mojave is awesome and the differnece in fuel cost for a few mpg is relatively small. You should test drive one and see how you like it. If you love how it drives, I say go for it. The deals right now are really good.

Even at less than 1% it's got full power, in that video the dude was doing those runs on a <1% battery. You were most likely in 2h where it really limits torque vs 4h auto where it will scoot to 60 in mid 5s, and hang with a 392 to 30 mph.

This is on a road trip - not able to charge the HV battery to get our almost free 25 miles -

This is with a JLU Rubicon - sounds like he has a JL so the JT would be a lot different in a lot of ways in big part due to the extra length and so on.

If you do Mojave things, get one. I see no need to spend the money on the package unless you are truly going to use it. About 80% of my miles are doing Mojave things in Southern California deserts and I love it.

My Mojave is my favorite truck ever owned, and one of my all time favorite vehicles. I think you’ll love one. Do what makes you happy.
I just got back from rippin across the desert, drifting around corners on the dirt OHV trail and then powering out WOT. Then, got on the asphalt and went into town for dinner. The Mojave is also one of my all time favorite vehicles. If you want an EV, buy a Tesla.
