They definitely need to bring in a “car guy” not a bookworm. Someone that can build excitement around new vehicles, giving the consumer what they want instead of shoving a product down their throat that he “thinks” they need.
Sergio Marchionne was awesome. We need another Sergio. Not only did he help bring the EcoDiesel to North America, but he loved the American auto industry. He also wanted to bring Dodge back to NASCAR.

Weird, either Tavares doesn’t do LinkedIn or he has hidden his profile.

First thing I’d do if I was Elkann is claw back as much of the money promised to Archer Aviation that Tavares threw their way.

What’s the consumer want tho lol
How many consumers are there, that would be the answer on how many changes.
My vote would be a straight 6 CY. minimum 300 HP and 400 Lbs. Torq.

Nothing will change.

Says it right in the short article. " Together we will ensure the continued deployment of the Company’s strategy in the long-term interests of Stellantis and all of its stakeholders."

Nothing about the interests of any consumer group.
Stellantis Strategy… lol

Long live Sergio! Who green lighted the EcoD for the Gladiator and the amazing interior? I’ll never sell it. NEVER

Yeah, Sergio loved diesels. He talked a lot about diesel technology, but he admitted that heavy government legislation was making diesel harder to implement, even with the advanced technologies.

And those controls are a major part of why diesels aren't as reliable as they used to be, right?

With regards to the regs, isn't part of the issue that they regulate diesel emissions to the same standard as gas?

Sergio felt that diesel engines could keep up with the regulations, but the regulations were changing faster than technology could keep up. In other words, reckless legislation was moving faster than it should have. But if you do some reading, you will see that diesel is alive and well in parts of the world in which diesel is still valued. Boohoo, resign at his accord with a ridiculous guarantee/severance package. The damage is already done.

So it is reckless regulations and not a reckless automaker that builds and sells engines it knows well in advance that they will fail...?!

Nothing is going to change. They did that to shut us up. Stellantis needs to resign as a auto manufacturer owner.

A question I would start with is how much do US automakers pay in penalties for producing vehicles that get 18-23 mpg? There seems to be alot of criticism against the manufacturer who is trying to produce a vehicle in an environment that is hostile to non "eco friendly" vehicles.

Jeep jl/jt are not really compatible with the trend in regulation and that is going to be costly to someone. There is a disconnect between what the customer wants and what the customer allows it's regulatory body to do regarding efficiency standards.
