I think the most disappointing thing to this is that I would push a Subaru harder than they were pushing that Tacoma….. In my opinion, they were taking it very easy to demonstrate the systems as a whole….. and it still broke ? Toyota fan boys are not going to be happy….

Wheeling hard???
? my thoughts exactly…

Over at the TacomaWorld forum it is about 50:50 those coming up with excuses (i.e., that the TFL guys abused it in prior videos) vs those saying it hasn't been abused and shouldn't have broken. It would probably be a similar split here if it had been a Jeep.

Yeah, we've been known to tear into TFL ourselves.

At this point, I see any monetized YouTube like this I immediately think "what bullshit did they spin this time". It's impossible to know what is or isn't legit anymore since it's all for views rather than facts.

The term "The Poors" goes back to the British Victorian era and was a derogatory term for both the social and economic class system back then to distinguish the upper class from everybody else. Even the emerging middle class back then was considered "poor" to the British upper class of the era.

In the modern era, the term kind of took off about 15+ years ago on the internet more as a subtle meme jab at anybody that cannot afford the expense to either participate or own the means to run with the best of something. If one buys a lower price item instead and tries to run with the others who are running the bleeding edge of something, they are then sometimes called "The Poors".

The term is pretty rampant on the various Gun groups and forums. Biggest examples is in the AR-15 world where it is a cottage industry to put down people that has a $400 entry level gun vs. somebody that paid $3K+ with presumable better branding, specs and materials.

I would not take offense to it as it is primarily a childish playground put down that is half joking and half serious at the same time.

I agree with you: I thought that user was saying that the far more expensive (as compared to Tacoma) gladiator was the no-brainer, and that the “poors” who couldn’t afford the Gladiator were the class that was driving the tacomas.

On a serious note: We’re all the poors, man. People shouldn’t look at that as an insult, more like a way to actually have a little accountability. I made my first million from dirt in my young thirties, my 2nd at 36, and my 3rd at 39 (a few months ago). I’m set right? Wrong. I’m just as far away from my dream house in Nashville as anybody. A good example: Im a Titans superfan, and I want front row seats that are in the same spot as my current front row seats in the new stadium. I could throw money at it, but it won’t get me those seats. Money doesn’t matter because I can’t justify putting down $100k per PSL for those seats. Those seats are gonna go to corporations and people that have 10x the money I do. I used my limited access to the billionaire owner of the team… and I had to sell my fandom as a way to get front row seats… and God willing the fact that I’m on the jumbotron every game and never miss a game will be enough. But in the end, whether we have a few grand or a few mill, we’re all just the poors to the people who really run shit.

Why rag on us Daniel Defense owners? LOL

The most fun AR15 i have owned was a Palmetto state armory pistol that I had about $800 in and that includes the optic. We can talk about Wilson Combat pistols I own also if we want to talk about expensive guns

I am the poors for sure and rising cost of living and vehicles has put me there. I was living comfortably a few years ago

I prefer Radian, Cabot and Nighthawks if we want pure bragging rights. Korth if we want to discuss wheelguns unless it’s a full Bowen or Clement’s customs. But this is a Gladiator forum.

back to the tacoma

it snapped the front CV like an over baked 10 day old taco shell. In my opinion anyhow as I don’t think we have full details disclosed.

I don’t feel they were wheeling it hard at all. I’ve seen more wheel hop going over a speed bump than what I saw in that video.
