I’ve been very happy with my Clayton 3.5” HD springs. I combined them with the Teraflex extended travel kit including spring retainers. I think I only get 15.x” of travel, not 16”, I assume because the spring free length must be shorter than the Teraflex springs. But it’s kinda hard to measure so I’m not 100% certain.

i ended up using some 4.5" rock krawler springs for my back to fix the saggy rear with cap and tools in there. The added length just adds a little more preload. Using spacers will do the same thing.

I think you will be hard pressed to find some HD springs in the length and rate you desire. That leaves air bags and longer springs or spacers (more preload) to get you where you want to be.
That's what you do with Metalcloak springs.

37s yes (Yoko X-ATs), Clayton F&R (3.5” diesel spring in front, 3.5” HD in back)

If the TF springs are triple rate with rate 1 = (something very low), rate 2 = 250 lb/in, rate 4 = 400 lb/in - Clayton HD is 188 / 308 / 396 and free length 22.625" +/-.25 (nice of them to publish complete specs). The higher middle rate would be consistent with sagging a little less, depending on free length. Did you happen to measure free length on the TF before install?

Would be nice to add AEV and Dobinson to that list. There is also a Ram 1500 spring that works IIRC. I believe there is a lot of info on those scattered throughout the Alu-Cab Canopy Camper thread

Depends a lot on details… This guy is developing a single-rate spring specifically so the compressed length of all the soft coils is less, yielding more uptravel for Baja style events (but requiring gutting fenders). Depends on control arm bushings. Depends on sway bar. Depends on pinion droop with stock UCA placement. Depends on weight of wheels even. And obviously depends on how much dead weight you have in the bed

AEV HD’s have landed. They’re progressives, so I was mistaken calling them linears. Will have a go at it next week and report back with photos.

Any idea on the spring rates?
What's the unsprung length?
After you put them in, be curious what your ride height length is as well.
Could you grab the inner diameter as well.

I would say yes, there are better options out there.

It might be Clayton that has the HD coils that people seem to like.
Outback is Teraflex’s HD spring. I’ve been elated with them. I gained 2” full inches going from another brand’s 3” non-hd to the teraflex 3.5” outback hd.

I do have Ram 1500 lift springs in my rear. They work great. Soft feel with good capacity. And they fit on JT’s.

Spring rates are a carefully guarded secret for AEV. Their standard duty coils are good up to 400 pounds over GVW. The HD's (blue ones) are good to 700 over GVW but I can say they hold well even pushing 1,000 over GVW. But with the HD coils its really best to have their remote reservoir shocks rather than just the standard.

Clayton will sell you the rears by their self. When I Frankensteined my lift. I have Clayton 2.5" springs in the front with the adjustable JKS spring seats, and their 3.5" springs in the rear.
What are the adjustable spring seats? I haven’t seen those. I’d love some wedge seats for the rear to deal with angle correction.
