Sucks that happened. Best you can do is obviously never use them again. Give them negative feedback online (like here.) But for those who think you should just take it because that's how life is these days???? Attitudes like that is why things are like this, and why companies can do business like this and stay in business. Mistakes happen, how they handle the mistake is what's important. It's called customer service.....sort of extinct these days I think it left with common sense.

by they way 4wheelparts.com has never screwed up any of my tire orders.:)
YOUR time is worth something though. If you spend weeks trying to get them to take them back, and then have to order tires from somewhere else, you just waste your time.

Saying “take the refund and go” isn’t the same as thinking that the company shouldn’t do something more.

I'm going to be about an hour from that address this weekend. Maybe I should swing by. I sent another email this morning asking him to call or email me to discuss.
Well might as well

Worst case..... you're in the same position
Best case......the issue gets resolved

I'm currently waiting to hear from him. It's been almost 24 hours since the last email. I've emailed him 4 times since his last email, so he can't think I've given up on him. I still say that at this point, he should refund the cost of two tires...one for the shorted tire and one for my trouble, which doesn't end when he processes the refund. I've called around to local shops (all of which probably get their tires from the same distributor) and they all say they can't get a single tire until next week. That opens up the can of worms that I've encountered in the past, which is that when tire distributors have a single tire sitting around, it has the potential of being an old tire.

I do feel like Boomers are ruining everything, but my parents never lied to me.
Boomers ruined everything? We tried to get population growth under control, we began to clean up the polluted mess created by the post WW2 folks. And we would never vote in a president like you all did. We had enough colleges and universities that anyone could go. And we don't spend our day on TikTok. We are still out cutting firewood, raising crops, and creating true product not influencer videos or scripted "reality" TV. We set all of you up for success.

I suggest to all who want ot whine about boomers go tuck your hair up into a bun, brush out your beard, grab your man purse, hop into your electric car (once it's charged) and go.

Good luck with the tire issue., I think, if the tires are available elsewhere, get the refund and buy the 4th tire from somebody that runs a better business. (oh, wait, boomers retired so you can't)

preaching to the choir. I never said they shouldn't do more. But how much time you have already wasted vs how much more are you willing to waste to find a resolution is different for everyone.

Sometimes I'll dig my heels in and spend twice as much time and money to force them to right a wrong purely on principle. Other times, I can cut my losses.....especially if I'm reaching the point where I'm ready to drive a Subaru through their showroom windows etc.....

I didn't say they ruined everything. It's more of a present tense thing. Most of the people in government are still baby boomers. The large baby boomer population is retiring and dragging down the economy with healthcare. My parents are 76 years old and go to the doctor constantly. I think it's a social event for them.

I don't think anyone one here is saying he just has to take it. The store has already offered to make it right in two different ways. He just didn't like what was offered. They offered a refund for the 4th tire or to find a ship him the 4th tire. He just didn't like either option and wants a full refund and them to pay for the return shipping on the 3 tires he already accepted or a partial refund on the entire order. If he didn't want the 3 tires he should have refused the order to begin with. It states right on the companies website that the return shipping is on the buyer. It just seems he is making it more difficult and trying to get something that he is not entitled to just because his order got messed up. He is entitled to being made whole again IE a refund for the 4th tire or a 4th tire. Does it suck yes but sometimes life sucks and you move on.

I agree spend a little more and leave the trouble behind. Don't make them angry be nice, you get more with honey than lemons!

Retired. Beach bum.
I placed an order for 4 tires on jeepandtruckparts.com aka HPTAutosport on Thursday, January 9, and my credit card was billed immediately.

Jeepandtruckparts.com is located in North Carolina and advertises that they ship in 1-5 business days.

On Tuesday, January 14, the tires shipped from Dallas, TX using XPO. On Friday, January 17, XPO scheduled the delivery for Monday, January 20. When the XPO driver arrived, he said he had 3 tires for me. He opened his truck, and there was one pallet with 3 tires on it. I immediately checked the JeepandTruckParts.com website, and sure enough, the sure said that all items in the order had shipped.

I called them using the number on the paperwork on the pallet. I got a voicemail saying that they do not accept any phone calls and to send an email. I emailed them and was told they would check with the warehouse. The next email said that they were out of stock and were checking on the lead time for the missing tire. The next email said they could refund my money for the missing tire if I didn't want to wait.

My problem is that they should have told me they only had 3 tires 11 days ago, instead of sending the 3 they had and not trying to find a 4th tire at that time. I emailed and told him I would prefer to just receive a refund for the entire order. I received no reply. What would you do? I called my credit card company and they asked me to wait 24 hours to see if they "make it right" before reversing the charges.

Ok so you have been shorted trying to save a dime chasing a buck. So now just pull up your boot straps, assuming you’re going to need to take the tire to get mounted anyway, to a Toyo dealer, BUY a 4th tire waiting for your refund and have all 4 mounted! I’m sure there’s a discount tire around that you could have driven off with 4 tires, under the graces of a dealer service after the fact in Person! I never buy tires on line!

I think we should keep the thread on the transaction and tire.........not the generational gripes. Everyone has been wronged or mislead......suck up buttercups and drive on. Pissing and moaning has never in mankind resolved an issue......end of rant

This isn't entirely true. I agreed to let them send me the tire I was shorted as long as it could be here by the end of this week. I also feel like a partial refund for my trouble is in order. If they can send the tire they shorted me and reimburse me for my trouble, then I will accept that resolution. If not, then they can process a refund and pick up the 3 tires they sent at their expense. It's not that unreasonable. They lied. The honus is on them.

Just my opinion, but I would have my credit card company reverse the charges and send them back. A. They should have known their inventory beforehand. B. They shipped only three and didn't communicate that to you. C. And now it's up to you to wait it out? Easier to stall you out. Reverse the charges, get your money back, and write it up as a lesson learned. Find somewhere local or at least somewhere you can visit, see the tires, and maybe they'll install as well. You may pay a little extra, but that extra is to avoid situations like this and (hopefully) peace of mind talking to a physical person, face to face.

Similar..... I needed a bumper fast. There's a company about 4hrs from me that had what I was looking for. I emailed them about shipping time. They responded with a very short answer saying that the bumper was located in their warehouse 5 states and about 15hrs away. Nah... that's ok. I'm good.

But pissing and moaning....that makes up 1/2 the content on the forums  if we removed the complaining about Stellantis, Jeep dealers, rubber ducks and angry grills.....what are desk jockeys supposed to read all day while pretending to work?

I never said I was taking them to a Toyo dealer to have them installed. They are going on beadlocks.

I think the point people are missing is that 2 weeks ago, I ordered and paid for 4 tires. Instead of contacting me to let me know they only had 3 tires, they surreptitiously sent 3 tires. They documented on their site and in the shipping email that 4 tires were sent. Everything says that 4 tires were sent except the BOL on the pallet, which I have posted here that says 3 tires were sent. If they had contacted me on 01/09 and said "sorry, we only have 3 tires", I would have cancelled the order. Their site still lists this tire as being in stock. They don't care.
