It would be nice to have a 2dr Wrangler that always has the top/doors off and able to leave parked in the garage for when rain is in the forecast (so basically all summer).
That's basically how I use my 2dr JK. I like the doors on, but sides and back off the soft top all summer. Well, except for this summer - my daughter just got her license and she likes 2 things: my 2dr JK and AC. It took me 8 years to put 30k on it, and now she's ruining my miles/year average. Oh well. First world problems.

Beautiful Jeep, OP. If I had to trade my Gladiator in, it would be for a 2 door JL for sure. Probably a Rubi in Hella Yella in a perfect world.

Was the gladiator to big? I’m just curious
Finally, the Gladiator was exactly the way I planned to have it from the beginning, which took over a year with the supply chain issues. After all the planned mods were done, I went for a camping trip and realized it didn't work out like I thought it would. Nothing wrong with any of it. Just not exactly what I thought it would be for usable space and driving experience.

Anyway, I don't spend money on anything else really, so I traded the Gladiator in on a two-door Wrangler Sport. Loving this little thing so far.

It was fun being here while it lasted. Guess I'll see everyone over on the Wrangler forum!

no idea where you're getting a $1500 tonneau that doesn't seal well. Mine was $285 for a soft folding and not a drop of rain gets in. It's not a perfect seal, as i learned doing some exceptionally dusty trails, but good enough that I wont be replacing it.
Soft can be cut with a knife and broken into. I had a soft one on my 2020 and it didnt offer much peace of mind for valuables.

Well, I have a similar story but for different reasons. My wife is the one who picked out the Gladiator. We picked up a 2021 Gladiator Overland. Drove it to California (from Las Cruces) a week after ownership. I liked it a lot. My experience was with (for pickup trucks) a 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro. The Tacoma had a lot less wind noise than the Gladiator, but it was harder putting 800 miles on it in that seating position. I eventually fixed a lot of the wind noise in the Gladiator with Hotheads Head Liners with Sound Assassin Strips.

Anyway, after I returned to Las Cruces, we had to visit the dealer for the tags. While there, I ended up trading the Taco for a 2021 Gladiator Rubicon. Never looked back.

But, the whole point of the story is going from a Gladiator to a Wrangler. That is what the wife did with her Gladiator. She went to the dealer to trade her Gladiator for a Wrangler. It is the Unlimited Sahara so it's the 4 door version (Snazzberry). She absolutely loves it. I am keeping the Gladiator Rubicon as I am pretty impressed with it.

I think that's the beauty of the Wrangler/Gladiator lineup is that it can cater to many needs/tastes. It's like the OP had a 5-bedroom house and realized he's better off with a 3-bedroom condo.

Enjoy your 2-door JL because those of us who have kids secretly wish we could eternally ship our kids off to summer camp and go wheel in a lifted 2-door Jeep.:beer::movember:

Same can be done on any soft top jeep. I don't let it keep me up at night, but you're right. After owning a soft top TJ for a long time, with my soft tonneau cover, I'm just like at least the thing locks, and the zipper isn't on the outside.

I liked my JLU but I needed a truck bed and didn’t want to give up the Jeep aspect, also rides better than my JLU did so it’s a win win for me
I worked that one out. My wife has the '18 JLU Rubicon and I have the '21 JT Rubicon Diesel. O|||||||O

A black, two-door with hardtop, 3.6L eTorque, automatic transmission, and air conditioning. Not much else to it. It has the space I need for my camping outfit and fewer extras on the center dash. Something about the smallness and minimalism of it appeals to me. Can't explain it and too old to care enough to try!
U should have gotten the 2.0 turbo....
