I tend to watch the science/tech articles out there, NASA stuff and so on. It appears they have indeed discovered a new black hole previously unknown, emanating from California.
Careful Papa, you are getting close to a political ban. Doesn't take much on this forum. LOL

After I clicked "post reply" I had a feeling someone would associate black hole with.... ok, never mind.

Who ever bought my 2020 likely found 30 or 40 cents down in that black hole if they ever had occasion to take the brake lever area apart.

I have had great results with my Curt Echo towing my travel trailer thousands of miles in all kinds of weather and terrain. I have Had many trucks with many brake controllers, (remember the KH that plumbed into your master cylinder?), and this is by far my favorite.

Actually, it was designed in the US and assembled in Ohio. It currently exists in hundreds of thousands of locations around the world...

NASA needs to re-direct the aim of those big telescopes up there. They missed out on thousands.

Which trailer brake controller? I bought one from etrailer, but it doesn’t connect like plug and play. I would need to run wires to the battery and to the trailer 7 way plug wires that are factory connected. Finding the wires to the 7 way plug are not easily located. What would yall recommend?
I use the Redarc Elite and love it. Easy install and works perfectly

I’ve determined that the Curt model 51527 cable is plug and play with a curt controller. Thanks guys.

I did the Mopar one in the Wrangler and the RedArc in my Gladiator.
I'd do the RedArc again, because you don't loose the 12v socket and it was easy. I did have to drill a hole in my dash, but it would be easy to replace that small panel if I wanted.
I think it looks clean and is easy to reach to adjust or hit the panic button.

I love this look. Any tips or part numbers I need? I have a 22 gladiator rubicon.

I am running the Curt 51527 harness and 51120 Discovery controller which I mounted in an aftermarket "saddlebags" organizer that fits snugly on the front of the console.

Not sure about that controller, but most aren't meant to be mounted sideways like that.

I didn't need anything extra, just the controller and their recommended harness.
Take your time pulling the center console apart so you don't drop any of the clips. There are a couple ribs on the back side of that panel I drilled that will need snipped to make a smooth mounting surface. You'll see what I mean when you get it apart.
Pretty easy overall. I'm not the only one to do it like this. Just take your time.

I do love this install verses the Mopar one that takes the place of the 12V plug.

The Curt manual shows three drawings, horizontal, vertical, and any angle with all being acceptable. It is electronic, so there is no pendulum inside to sense deceleration of the vehicle. Hence, mounting position is not important.

Awesome! Was wondering what anyone's experience was with this. This is what I plan to go with as well. Want something that works well without wiring and modding the interior. I am IN!

You’ll love it. I’ve used mine a ton as well. It works perfectly. Zero install.

Dang you people for giving me reasons to spend more money! We bought a Tekonsha P3 which has worked well enough, other than being mounted right down over my dead pedal knee.

Which can be interesting if / when I need to manually enable the trailer brakes (so far, once) because I have to lean down, reach down, and find the lever while keeping my leg out of the way, watching the road, and driving with one hand.

So now I'm looking at getting the Redarc and mounting it next to the 12v outlet...
