Ahh, height will do that. I’m 6’ and it’s barely workable, but my 5’2” wife can’t see anything with that screen there. I guess I’m going to have to find a smaller option.

I love the quality of the image on the Haloview, and the price, but I’ve read the 5” screen won’t do a 3 image split (rear and side cameras) and the mirror screen only shows part of the image at any given time, and I don’t think the front camera on the mirror screen will be able to see around the radar/camera box.
Update: I tried many more ways to get the 7" screen to work but I just couldn't find a way to get it fit to my satisfaction, so I broke down and ordered the MC5111 with the 5" screen. Good news! It turns out the reviews I'd read of the 5" screen were for the old MC5101 model. The new MC5111 model supports all the camera splits that the 7109 supports, so it'll work perfectly! It's also way lighter and smaller.

The only negative is the included suction cup mount is pretty terrible. It connects to the screen with a 1/4-20 thread but even tightening down the "jam nut" doesn't stop it from rotating on the threads. That'll be a simple fix though, as there are many 1/4-20 mounts out there, and the monitor also has the same t slot on the back that the 7" does. As small as the screen is I may even just opt to hang it over the rear view mirror.

Hanging that over the rear view mirror would actually be pretty awesome I think. not like you can use it for anything. Are the side cameras too small to be useful at that size though?

Only one problem with hanging it over the rear view mirror...even if you're towing and that mirror is useless, anything hanging from the mirror is an excuse for the Po-po to write you a ticket (or add extra to any ticket you get) for obstructed view.

I got pulled over once years ago and would have gotten a warning (59 in a 55 zone...cop being a bit of a jerk) but he saw that I had a 'dream catcher' hanging from my rear view and so wrote me a ticket for that, for having an obstructed view.

I'd be wary of something as big as a view screen hanging from a rear view mirror...even if the Po-po is passing you and you are well within safe driving limits, he looks over and sees that, if he has a wild hair across his ass (or didn't get laid that morning by his wife or side gig) he can pull you over and write you a ticket for obstructed view.

I don’t have the side cameras yet, but the visible portion of the screen is only 2” smaller than the other screen. It should be plenty with as clear as it is. I’ll post up pics and comments when I get that part done.

I wasn’t thinking of hanging it from the mirror so much as over the mirror glass. The entire point would be to eliminate the obstruction of my view.

yep I get that. plenty of things for a cop having a bad day to write you up on. I could totally see a write up over a mirrior that can't even be used. Shit my dad's SC handicapped tag he leave up is a legit issue but never had and issue even though he should. I have no clue how the state can actually issue something so dumb, thing is no joke the hight of the JK windshield.

Sorry to revive this thread but did you ever figure out a way to hang it over the mirror? I have a 5” that is suctioned to my windshield and it kills my view.

I didn't think many peop,e on this site would need a trailer camera, I wouldn't think the Gladiator could pull anything big enough to warrant a camera. Just use your mirror.

We pull a camper which all but eliminates any visibility from the driver's seat. The backup camera is the only way I can see if there's anything behind me unless it's 4 or 5 car lengths back.

I ended up not bothering and just mount it with the suction cup. If I position it right the bottom of the screen frame drops into the dash cubby a little bit.

I pull a 26’ long 8’ wide RV. Even with towing mirrors the Jeep is so skinny you can’t see anything around the trailer without cameras.

This is exactly why I ended up here. I was about drop $$ on the Furrion S+, but now I'm thinking about this HaloView 5" you got. I also have a 26'x8' camper and agree that even with mirror extenders, you can't see around it. I also have a 6'x12' cargo trailer.

I was hoping to find a way to hook an RV backup camera to the factory radio through a rear view splitter or the 'cargo view' camera input, but I'm having trouble with that route. Plus I might be getting a different tow vehicle next year, so a separate LCD is a bonus on that tip.

I do like the idea of side view cameras, and I'm hoping there's view modes for rear, sides, rear & sides. It would be nice to have just the sides active while driving.
