I'm coming close to the end of my Power Train Warranty so the first thing I'm messing with is the Trans Pan and Fluid change.
I passed that a long time ago 😂

They are actually geared the same. The significant torque difference just makes up for it….
https://gearboxlist.com/zf/8hp75/
^ ratios can be found here.
This is why I personally have a hard time understanding the size increase to differential gear conversations…. Not saying I would put 5.13’s or 5.33’s on a diesel….. but 4.88’s all day long 🤷‍♂️ I suppose it does make sense for gas jeeps to go deeper to help the mechanical advantage for lack of torque….

Edit:
Better link for gear ratios:

How can they be the same gear ratio ? Well possibly the rear ends are geared higher . 3.04's or some crap in order to account for the exact same gearing in the transmission. Huh that blows my mind .. so an 8HP75 has the same bolt pattern in the bell housing as an 850RE ?

Trans gears are the same- differential gears are where they are different, and the same?
Diesel all: 3.73’s
Gas 3.73’s, 4.10’s, and optional wrangler 4.56 for the X package.

So does the 3.6 and 3.0 have same bell housing bolt pattern which will match up to either transmission ?

The bell housing is different on the diesel trans. As well at the transmission control module. FYI, give jeep parts depot, in Los Angeles a call. They usually have dealer take offs transmissions for around $1,000, plus shipping. Typically with less than 1,000
Miles on them.

My temps dropped 20+ degrees using this pan. Also installed the one for engine oil with similar results. Couldn't be happier.
It may take longer for it to get hot but once it's hot it will take longer to cool down because there is more fluid. So doesn't make since to me how it is cooling engine and transmission by 20 degrees? Please illuminate me .

What temps are you seeing now from what you’re used too?

Temps went from 211-212-213 (average) to 187-188 (average) for daily driving. Recently hauled my 16-ft trailer full of camping gear and two 4-wheelers from OK to Kalifornia and the temps were only slightly elevated. Running MOPAR brand fluid

So you pulling with 4.11's I see, wonder why the transmission temps are over 200. Mine has only gotten to 201 one time must have been 90°F + outside. Most of thd time I hover around 195 even running hard. The temp difference in these transmissions and even the engines has never made since to me.. perplexed by this . Could it simply be weather related your area is Arid and dry while mine is humid and Wet . And more northern . That could possibly be the difference.

Here's what PPE has to say about the different pans.

Note 1: Does not fit JL/JT 3.6L V6 due to interference with the exhaust pipes (See SKU 228153500)

Note 2: The Jeep Wrangler 2.0L/3.6L (with the 850RE transmission) and 3.0L/6.4L (with the 8HP75 transmission) use the same OEM stamped steel transmission pan and filter. This stamped steel pan is designed with a flat compound gasket featuring a metal core.

PPE Cast Aluminum Transmission Pans, SKU 228153000, 228153400, and 228153500 are all compatible with the 850RE and 8HP75 transmissions in the Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator. However, these pans differ in depth, resulting in different capacity gains.

228153000 has 2.2 quarts of additional capacity.

228153400 has 1.0 quart of additional capacity, offering better ground clearance.

228153500 has 1.0 quart of additional capacity, offering better ground clearance. Also, its external cooling fins are machined to be compatible with the exhaust cross pipe in the JL/JT 3.6L V6.

So the last one is the one I need . Hmmm 🤔 is one extra quart even worth all the trouble . ??
