Camping trip with the two year old! His first time in a tent. Plan on getting an RTT if he likes it once most every brand comes off backorder. This was a cheap $80 tent for the bed that went together easily and serves its purpose for now. Not through the night yet, but we will see how it goes. Having fun so far!

300 Weatherby Mag......

thats a nasty piece of work right there...

Just a little bit... I won't show the whole bench. But I can show a picture of the die sets... I do a lot of custom cartridge design and wildcatting, as well.

Been shooting guns since I was 2 years old. Dad would hold the gun and teach me how to aim and pull the trigger. I was always a natural crack-shot. Naturally the distances got farther and farther when even 100 yards with pistols and iron-sights became no real challenge. I still shoot everything at 100 yards (minimal distance) to this day, my pistols, revolvers, .22's, everything. I do basic patterning and load development at 100 yards, then tweak from there at distance.

Went wheeling for the first time at Haspen Acres in Laurel, IN. It was really nice and I have to say my Gladiator impressed. I started off a bit skittish and went slow and shower easy.

I had my buddy get out a bunch and check ground clearance to make sure I was ok for front, middle, and back. Eventually I went over several obstacles several times to get a bit more comfortable with simple capabilities.

The park has a main ring that's a fire road and is easy, just bumpy, so everyone can get around. There are 2 main sets of trails (blue and red) for different difficulty. There are also many, many, little offshoots and squirrelly areas off the main tail

I spoke to the front office people and asked about where I could take a stock, unmodded, Jeep and was immediately told to stay away from red, no problem! They were iffy about blue and said maybe some pinstriping and difficulty on blue.

I explored a lot of the fire road but there was a huge tree down they needed to remove that blocked 1 section but we got to it from both sides, not a big deal.

The Gladiator really impressed me, especially for a stock Sport S (with max tow). I eventually went up (and down) some 20 degree inclined hills (a few dirt, a few dirt/rock combos) and through some really difficult looking terrain. The sick ATs gripped really well and never spun out chirped except when I turned all the way in 4wd.

I only attempted some of the more difficult bits because my buddy has his modded F350 there and the park has a bulldozer that can pull you out (for $100...). I somehow ended up in some red territory on accident and didn't realize it but was making it through just fine.

I came across 1 old, modified Wrangler (much smaller than mine but I don't know what model) and a bunch of dirt bikes and quads. The quads were in the red part I passed and they asked for I got my Jeep out there and we impressed I was in the tail. They watch me go down a rocky and curvy 20 degree slope, just to go up another at the bottom of the creek lol.

The length of the Gladiator for me 1 time where I bottomed out on a hill. I just backed up (everything was ok, skid plate took it and I was going show) and went another direction. I may also touched once while in a rut while going through a muddy puddle lol. 1 of the pictures below is my buddy seeing how deep the ruts are in a puddle lol.

My Gladiator earned it's badge yesterday I think. While it all may have been easier than a lot of trails you guys do it was my first time and had a ton of fun, I'm hooked, though I still don't want to do anything too crazy. The people were all really friendly, I highly recommend Haspen Acres for any new person close enough. I'll have more photos eventually, I was driving most the time and my buddy took most the photos.

Pulled our trailer up to Boulder Creek to camp in the Coastal Redwoods this weekend. Also spent the day at the beach on the way home. The Tonneau cover works great over the XL dog crate! Keeps the dogs dry from the dew and out of the sun.

The POFS Tacoma work truck is in the shop from having MORE issues... So I had to drive my JTR to the jobsite today... ~175 mile round-trip everyday. Shit SUCKS, but at least I was on a job site in a comfortable 4x4 today. :like:
