People Work?
Today we burned a whopping 2.5 quarts of gas and explored an area just down the road from the house.
I'll be honest, we've lived here over ten years, and while we've crossed the bridge at the location thousands of times, we've never bothered to stop and explore beyond the limits of the highway.
It's actually quite unique for the region and beautiful.

I wish I could get in there and drive on the rocks!

JT’s First pull, took it fishing. It handled the Custom Weld perfect. Coolers and gas tank full, it crosses the scale at 3600lbs. The computer gave me 13.6 mpg on the 40 mile trip (I’ll fill it tomorrow to check the accuracy). Never broke 3k RPM staying on cruse at 55mph. Monitored the trans temp, max on the trip was 197 degrees up 3 mile 6% grade(analog temp gauge stayed right in the middle). Had my fishing partners with me, they’re good bite spotters :O)…Oh yeah, caught fish. Killer day with JT.

Thanks. I mostly bought it this way from a local dealer. I've added Rock Slide Engineering steps, ARB twin compressor and GMRS/2 M/CB radios. Pretty much as delivered.

Skyjacker lift is actually pretty nice so far. The MTZ Mickey Thompson are a pretty solid tire in the dirt/rocks. Not awesome on the highway (noise) but it's a mud terrain

Finally had some good weather on a day off today so took a little loop of a drive - and while I was gone a couple bank robbers came into town from Idaho and held up the travel center taking hostages. There were at least 25 cops still there on my way back, and 15 heading back to their county with a small APC and two L-ATV's. I think one is dead, but a hostage or two is in the hospital unfortunately. And took the county and SWAT 4 hours to take care of the situation despite a bunch of civilians carrying. What a SNAFU. Shoulda gotten gas at that station this morning...would have been a non issue.

Anyway.....The reservation has some pretty spectacular places. And some pretty nasty clay-mud

But the Mission Mountains are spectacular, and very special. This place just captivates my heart in a way no other place has. It is mysterious.

Checking on some known camping spots on the Rez. A lot of people in the area hate the reservation. This is one of the cleaner ones, and safer ones for the most part. But this tiny BLM spot on the Rez is a place I have wanted to camp for a few years - gotta get that RTT on. Snow wasn't too terrible, although almost needed lockers to get out with the slush and gumbo.

I don't think there will be anymore ice fishing for the year. But it's still in the low teens at night. Gotta find a heating solution for the tent to extend camping season.
