Towed my Boston Whaler Dauntless 13 back to marina @ a mile away then gave the Gladiator a bath. I'll do interior tomorrow, Lots of sand from grandson's surfing expeditions.

Posting a few days late but I went to Moonlight Madness up at Bald Mountain near Fresno, CA and finally got to try an RTI!

Got home from work and immediately went to the Spenard Food Truck Carnival in Anchorage.

Decimated a Reindeer Dog with Kenai cheese topping from Yeti Dogs and then spotted a wild Cattywumpus and Gladys in the wild!

Welp! What did I do with the Gladiator this weekend.

I installed the AEV space kit and correction brackets. 3 hours on Friday evening, for the rear and 4 hours on the front Saturday morning.


Everything went well:

Destroyed a drill bit up. oh well
Axle shifted as I removed the control arms, that was a nervous shift
Dropped the Torque Wrench on my face.

Poured rain as I'm under the Gladiator torquing.
so why not keep going pouring rain sweating dropping wrench on face hitting my head.

But it looks great and if you are questioning if you can do it yourself. yes, you can!

I wish I could say that hasn’t happened to me. Also a control arm, but it was the impact wrench. Parking lot of an Offroad park in AR a few years ago. Oops. Great job knocking that out. Looks great.

All these posts are showing how boring I am lately. I towed the trailer to the farm store and Home Depot to get hopefully the last of the fence supplies. Then unhooked the trailer in the yard near where I needed them, and got the JT stuck on the other side of the posts, cuz I’m dumb.

I moved the trailer with the tractor a bit later so I could get it out and put it in the garage. But it was funny to me at least. Not used to having to pay attention to where gates are.

Ran some errands today. While out and about, I stopped by Sunrise Juice and got a strawberry lemonade.

Next to a 20oz Yeti tumbler for size reference. I highly recommend the shop, they also do Acia bowls and a few other things.

Decided to get up at the crack of dawn and drive up Hatcher Pass to Summit Lake. Slight chill on the air and lots of glorious fog-at-altitude. Summit Lake was a beautiful teal blue-green in the foggy light. And yes, those are snowmachine tracks across the ice.

Gotta love the Highlands... of Alaska. In July.

Tooled my way to the entrance of Craigie Creek trail, and realized that at this time of year, the water crossings might be a bit more than I could handle without a trail partner. I was encouraged by my decision not to go up by another, even more built-up overlander Taco that came up behind me, got a short distance up the trail, and immediately reversed with a hard nope.

Turned around, went back over the summit into the fog and watched the road pass on by, heading back to Anchorage.

Anybody who's interested, the trail itself was mostly dry rockbed, with slick mud on the sides as usual. The new spring growth was encroaching on each side, like it do. The big concern was how high all the streams and rivers were running due to the late and heavy snowmelt.

And it still hasn't all melted.
