They're ugly.

But they've been ugly for so long it's quirky and endearing. Like the OG VW Beetle.

The Jeep is ugly in the way a bulldog or pug or Boston is adorably ugly.

Here’s a more unpopular opinion, at least, I assume amongst JT owners:

The Gladiator is an ugly truck. Like, bad ugly and not in a cute/ugly Jeep way. Sure the front end is with its squidgy Jeep face, see above. But the whole side, behind the rear door, squared off rear roof business is just straight ugly. It’s oddly proportioned and awkward. And this will really rub some people the wrong way. I think it’s proportions look a lot worse at stock ride-height and tires size. Also the bed design and how it curves nicely around the cab (they did a good job with the bed) almost accentuates the awkwardness of the rear of the cab.

I still love my “Ugly Truckling.” And I almost find the design subversive which is saying something considering the Jeep is an iconic design. It’s like they went out of their way to make a statement about function over form. Of course, more likely the designers just didn’t know what to do with the area behind the rear doors and the top shape was constrained by needs to be removable, the roll cage and the mechanics of the soft top.

Caught up with you there the other day while pulling out a stuck truck at the beach.
"Waves and waves of sand" is right, lol.

hahaha oh no! I wish I had a picture of mine but it was very similar, except the sand was red. Hopefully you were able to get most of it out without to much hassle

I agree that it’s ugly but more so disproportionate until they are on 37s or larger.
I have 40s and people ask all the time and assume they are 37s. The jt just looks better with bigger tires.

I wish my JT had an angry grille.

Just kidding.
Glad I saw the really fine print at the bottom, otherwise, I was going to suggest - there are doctors for that little problem.

I love my manual, clutch included. I think my rokblokz look great. But IFS is significantly better for desert racing. I don't imagine many KotH entrants are running solid front axles.
If you think any factory ifs is even remotely the same as a koh rig you aren't paying attention. Their arm mounts are ~12" apart giving them huge travel and minimal camber change throughout. The street ifs on a bronco or 4 runner has tiny little arms mounted 4 feet apart with very little travel and huge swings in camber across that limited range. True long travel ifs is absolutely better than a solid axle at speed in the desert. The bronco ifs? Nope. Any stock bronco owners want to test that theory I'll be in Alabama Hills in the mojave Thanksgiving weekend and will gladly race across whatever stretch of desert you feel comfortable with.

You took a tiny off hand comment on an "unpopular opinion" thread and blew it up to the nth degree filled with insults and personal challenges.

Frankly it doesn't matter if you're right or wrong; what you are is hyper-aggressive. Maybe tone it down a notch or seven.

Insults? Don't take it so personal, just stating facts. Some koh rigs do still run solid front axles FYI. The short travel, car like ifs on a bronco or 4runner in stock form is worse in the desert than the Jeep solid front axle in my experience. Travel is severely limited. Add your typical lift kit and now it's even worse as the downtravel is almost non-existent. Yes I am willing to put my money where my mouth is and show the proof as I enjoy going fast in the desert. I don't think I was being aggressive at all and I definitely didn't insult anyone?

The Bronco Raptor has 13" of front travel and 14" in the rear. And about 130 more HP.

I don't think there is any chance you could hang with one in the desert.
