Not so funny, but lucky for the drivers nearby. A railroad car fell off a bridge onto a busy interstate highway during morning rush hour. Very fortunate (and unbelievable) that no vehicles were hit.

(I280 along Crystal Springs for those in the Bay Area)

Doing 75 in a 65mph zone. Four lane interstate. I was the second lane from the left. SF Bay area, so I was getting passed like I was standing still. (I was in that lane going around slower traffic.)

Look over at the Tesla passing me on the left. He had to be doing 85. Baby seat and toddler in the back seat. God only knows how he shoehorned that in there! The driver had his laptop opened and setup on the center console, typing and staring at the screen.

One of the happiest days of my life was trading in my CA address for a MT one back in 2018.

Back in the late 1980's I was driving I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville TN when a car load of young women with TN Vols stickers on the car passed me and started making joking flirting gestures. For the next 10+ miles or so, we naturally passed each other back and forth with the natural progression of traffic making joking lewd gestures towards each other when one of the girls in the front passenger seat drops her shorts and panties and flashes her whisker biscuit clam to me sticking it against the window and they sped off to never be seen again.

People taking 60+ thousand dollar jeeps and destroying them
I 'only' had about $47K in my last one if you consider the purchase price of the Jeep itself, but I put nearly 90K miles on it wheeling 14 badge trails all over the country. It was in the rocks, in the mud, etc.

By all accounts, probably 'destroying' it by typical observation.

But, strangely, the pavement pounding Jeeps in the club had more problems, didn't drive right, etc....and mine would run 3,500 mile trips to Utah and back and spend every day air downed and offroad.

No issues.

Eh - it was probably because I had to depend on it that it was mechanically sound and everyone else' wasn't because you don't need much to get to the ice cream stand on Saturday.

The fabled Bearded Clam strikes again.

Could tell you a story or 4 about that beast back in the late 70's in college.

That’s cute baby boy. This my #6 Jeep in 65 years. Never got any badges. Frame offed 2 of them. Used them to hunt to fish. To drink beer in. To haul groceries and children.
don’t have any ducks on my dash. Probably ant going to get any.
Now for the jeep I have now. To pull my little camper. To pull my Carolina skiff. Just got back from Sam. 180 mile round trip.
Sooo yes I use my jeeps. I don’t abuse them.
