I used to have that happen with my 2020 - because it wasn't able to contact the mother ship and confirm I was entitled to it. Some things just wouldn't be there until I drove far enough to be within cell tower range, then they appeared.

Mine just did this the other day. Probably 6-10 restarts, reset the EVIC stuff to default, and like most, nothing brought the current MPG back.
I did have luck after I changed the stuff in the "Favorites" menu for the EVIC. I disabled the fuel economy one, then its just not there at all when scrolling through the stuff. Re-Enabled it, and BAM, current MPG was back.

Hi, I'm new to the Jeep owners crew. I have a Gladiator that I purchased off the showroom floor 1 week ago.
I have just completed a 3,000km working trip in the last 6 days and the instant mpg display dissapeared on the last day whilst travelling 900km back home.
I refueled the car a few times and it hasn't come back after stopping and restarting vehicle. I haven't tried resetting anything.
Just a little bit annoyed.
I use Android Auto for navigation throughout the whole trip.

After seeing all of the posts here on this, I'm just waiting for mine to disappear. Maybe it's the peppermint oil I keep around the truck - keeping the ghosts, gremlins and other spirits away and from causing trouble.
Look, I'm not that danged lucky - it's hard to fathom I've not seen this yet and I'm not so sure that by posting this, mine will disappear next time I drive the truck.
And I don't even own a tazer!
There has to be some common theme - anyone started tracking these in a spreadsheet, tracking by gas or diesel, trim level, tazer or not, build dates or whatever?

I think it's newer models. I test drove a 22 JL and it didn't have the instant MPG. My 2020 doesn't have any issue.

And I own a 2022 with just over 6,000 miles. That display is in front of me almost the whole time I am in the truck unless I'm looking to check something specific (tire inflation, voltage, whatever)
It's not even flickered.
A couple of posts here don't indicate the year of their JT so either they are 2022 and just don't say so, or are outliers.

I don't watch MPG, I keep the digital speedometer up on the display. Whenever I do cycle through the displays, the instant MPG is always there. I have a early 2019 build.

ugh, can't stand the digital speedo. It's so fat and so 1980s. Thank goodness for the old fashioned looking dial type speedometer or I'd never know how fast I was going. I can't stand digital speedometers. Those fat blocky white numbers - can't they try to be creative with color or font? Make it less fat and intrusive?

Same. I have the mpg as the main unless I'm towing. Then it's the oil temp. I have a 22 and my current mpg disappeared about 1500 miles in. It came back tonight when I went into settings and unchecked and checked the box again. Oh well.

just posting here as my Instant MPG has run-off as-well. Can't seem to figure out how to reboot the infotainment to reset it.
Hopefully a fix for this glitch is released!

Somewhat related - do our units receive periodic updates over the air? I jumped in mine last night and took a ride and on my screen right above my first icon where my media button is it said "Installing SQDF" and was gone after about 5 minutes. It was odd to me since the only way I thought our vehicles received updates was via a flash at the dealer. A quick google brings up a bunch of posts from the last week or so across the interwebs with no answer.
