I prefer cloth because its always hot in the tropics, but you can always put on a seat cover.

I accidentally found out I liked the cloth a lot better than the pleather.

I found a Mojave that had all the options I wanted (and hard to find) and went to see it and the options all on 1 truck. As we got back after driving it, it dawned on me that I loved the seats, which were cloth.

The others I'd driven were X trucks so while they had most of what I wanted, I wasn't crazy about the pleather at all. Especially in the Mojave, the pea green color was worst. I priced out having the seats recovered, then realized there was that green on the dash and door handles so I was up in the range of $3600.

So, I was super stoked to find this cloth seat loaded up Mojave and I've never looked back. It would be less $$$ to have these recovered by Katskin, to my liking, but for now there's no reason. One thing this truck didn't have was also, power seats which honestly, I rarely use anyway. The other issue with the trucks I drove that had pleather, sliding around on them.....

FYI, we don't have pets or kids, so it's easier to keep them clean, and the cloth isn't hard to clean, even using a blower as I do to the whole interior. Also, the acoustics are much better, as it's even more comfortable sound-wise along with Sound Assassin and Hothead headliners.

Oh, I'm in north Texas, and the interior of mine is black. Super comfortable year around!

I've had both. The cloth were more comfortable, mainly for reasons that @md2k mentioned since we live in the same area, but the cleaning of the leather is much better

Not only was the cloth hard to clean after wheeling, the passenger seat was permanently stained with baseball dirt from my son, and that was on black

I historically preferred cloth seats. Just seem more comfortable year round.

Wife has leather in her Cherokee. They are ok but in the summer she needs to lay a towel on them.

I had leather in the ZR2 I traded for my Mojave. They were ventilated and if those holes got plugged by something it was a PITA to get it out.

My Mojave has cloth seats. I'm content with them but would like to find some casual seat protection for them.

+1.
We all use our rigs differently, so it really matters what you use your JT for, but for those of us with kids, the cloth can pay a price for their activities. I've been a baseball, soccer, and basketball coach for 12 years and there's nothing worse than your son jumping in the back seat after a double-header baseball day with more clay dirt on his pants than the infield itself. Covers are a must.

With two exceptions I have always had cloth interior and thankful for it, not too hot in the summer
and not too cold in the winter (Goldilocks zone ?), now the exceptions were a 1961 Morris Minor
and my 2020 Gladiator. The Morris Minor seats were old and well worn but comfy, the seats in
the Gladiator are great with one caveat, my butt slides around easier even when buckled-up

The only question you have to ask yourself is how often you put your arm on the arm rest and go “oh f*ck that’s hot!”. Same amount of times will apply to leather seats. Whoever made that arm rest black leather(pleather) should be fired. I prefer cloth. I have leather and covered them with seat covers because my top is off frequently and the leather gets ungodly hot

The main thing I have learned from this thread is that folks seem to be WAAAAY more sensitive to hot seats than I apparently am. I am not located in the desert like a lot of the owners responding seem to be, but I am also not in Canada like the OP is. Maybe it's just that the Dark Saddle isn't as egregious in this respect? Interesting to see just how adamant some are for one option over the other.

I specifically ordered my 22 JT Manual transmission and manual seats Mojave completely loaded to include the leather. The leather is always going to keep a better resale value. I have seat towels for the 4 winter months I spend in the FL keys and July/Aug here in MO.

We own property in the desert and live in the central valley in CA where it often hits 108⁰ plus in the summer. Black leather in both Jeeps. Why anyone would run with the top and doors off in those conditions is beyond me. Unless the afternoon sun is shining straight into the windshield and I was too dumb to remote start it first it's never even uncomfortable to the touch. I also don't wear 70s/80s NBA short shorts so even if I did park with the sun shining straight on the seats it's only mildly uncomfortable.

I originally wanted leather, but the deal that I got on my Mojave had cloth. 5 years and over 100k miles later, I'm very impressed with the cloth seats (at least the Mojave version). Easy to clean and durable.

Looking at ordering a 26' Mojave. Actually ordered it last week but no VIN# yet so still time to change my mind. Kinda up in the air with interior. I've had leather in the past and found them to be hot and sweaty even in the great white north. So kinda leaning towards the bolstered Cloth but heated for those winter months. Thoughts?
Get what ye want. Leather for me.

What part? Driving around with no top or doors when it's 108⁰ and pretending you aren't hot and miserable? Or not being mildly uncomfortable for a minute or 2 when you 1st get in when you parked in the direct sun? Or is more comfortable in your mini skirt or booty shorts? The easier cleanup outweighs all of those "advantages".
