The budget lifts are enough to get you into the air. If your not beating on them then its probably good enough as long as its got the arms to correct the front geometry & track bars to recenter the brackets. Just like the last few responses I think Clayton is the go to. Their budget type lift isnt on the webpage yet, but it appears they will sell it if ya contact them. You could always take it from the budget to the full thing later by adding the rest of the control arms.

Re-Gear is not necessarry if your ok with the loss in power that the bigger tires will result in & not beating on things. If your wanting to look good pulling into the local mall then grab the budget lift & your 37's & your done.. The rest is going to mostly be for performance/strength when your pushing things to their limits.
Thank you!! Exactly what I'm looking for, I want the decent off-road capability, but definitely not needing to push it to its limit. thank you so much for clarifying what is needed/unneeded! The only thing I'm worried about is that I was hoping to get a 4.5"+ lift which would leave room for bigger tires. I've also heard mixed things about 3.5" lifts on overlands with 37"+ tires, which is why I was leaning towards the EVO kit. Any Advice?

I like Evo... But you’ll get a lot of bias on here because Clayton is a sponsor on the site, so lots of guys run them on here. They’re good products, too. You can’t go wrong either way, but I went with a 2.5” Evo Enforcer Stage 2 Plus lift. At the time, Clayton had not released their newest 2.5” lift.

Id say 6 in 1 hand, half-dozen in the other, you’ll be just as happy either way.

People don't run Clayton because they are a sponsor, that's an Evo apologists view.

People run Clayton because they're great and overdeliver.

An “Evo apologist”? WTF is an “Evo apologist”? :CWL:

Don’t get your panties in a wad... Get triggered much? All I was saying was you will see a lot more Clayton lifts on here, because they are a sponsor, so more people see the name listed, and buy them. I wasn’t saying anything bad. As a matter of fact, if you read my post (obviously reading comprehension escapes you), you will not see a single negative thing about any brand.

That’s the exact non-informative and pointless response I expected from an “Evo-basher”...

See... Labeling people with stupid names sounds pretty.....Well....Stupid, doesn’t it?

Man it aint got nothing to do with them being a forum sponsor. More people have RK then Clayton & they aren't a sponsor. Rough Country and TeraFlex fit into that as well.

Evo isnt getting as many because they are expensive. Like a lot more expensive then the rest.

And when I chose Clayton it was based on feedback from what I read online elsewhere (couldn't find anyone actually running one here till after I had already ordered) and the local jeep guys here where I am in Idaho.

RK is a sponsor of this site. Check the sponsor section. :like:

Once again, I said they were equal... People are overlooking that part...

can you tell me the difference between the stages, I'm a little lost on the differences? I'm also assuming that if I got an Evo kit without the king shocks, the only parts I would need would be shocks?

If you go here, and read the descriptions, it tells you what the different stages include...

And yes, you will need shocks. I have a Rubicon, which comes with Fox shocks from the factory, so, Im going to be using shock extension brackets to reuse my stock Fox shocks. This is a cheap option if you buy a cheap used set of Rubicon take-off Fox shocks from someone selling them online.

I did...

They aren't listed.

Edit: I stand corrected. They dont have a sponsor subforum like the rest do, but they are a sponsor.

The long and short of the evo lift is the control arms. The higher the stage number goes the more of the control arms that are included. The stage 4 is complete.

One thing I will offer to you and any other "noob" based on my experiences and those of my friends. Jeeps. Jeeping, overlanding. Whatever is very much subject to incrementalism or scope creep. What you envision today as your endpoint may be nowhere close to where you are in a year, 3 years etc. I was delighted in my cj5 bone stock in 1974, but maybe some chrome reverse or "mags" would be nice...but then tires got bigger maybe some 11x15s, yeah... point is that not long ago 35s were huge and the limit for a street able rig....you get my point I'm sure

So, unless you're like me and circling the drain you might consider whether you go EVO or Clayton or Bob's lifts are us as stage 1 and just the beginning of your adventure. Your system will evolve and change over time, or YOU will and you'll move on to dirt bikes or muscle cars etc. So if 37s are your current desire, get the best stuff you can to support running 37s, dont scrimp! But try to get parts that can grow with you, control arms etc.

I'd not start with a 4.5" kit if youv e not driven lifted 4x4s before but that's me, bottom line is you wont likely notice the difference between any of the kits until you use it and see how yours compares with others then you modify, adapt, and overcome.

Sorry for the verbosity and if I sound preachy.

Preach On Brotha...

This is very valid.

This scope thing gets ya.. My JT is my first jeep & I have had it a little over 3 months. Already I can tell you I have spent thousands on upgrades that I regret.. All because what I want to do has changed. Didnt buy a bad product or anything like that.. Just what limits I want to be able to push has changed.
