Very interesting, just looked at a more in-depth video. Some take aways:

1) it’s a live function, tazer needs to be installed for it to work
2) true a thief could unplug it and drive away, however they would have to know about the tazer to begin with, and would have to know it’s not another security device elsewhere
3) you can still use auto start, as this function only works when the start button is physically pressed, or vehicle is put in drive
4) currently for the car jacking mode, driver door has to be opened and fob removed from vehicle for it to be enabled
5) as of right now, only breaks engage and lights flash, it’s silent
6) in car jack mode, 20 second count down for pin, however breaks won’t engage until vehicle is at 5mph or less for safety
7) if you forget the pin there is an over ride but takes 10 minutes
8) pin can be disabled for when you need to take vehicle in for servicing etc
9) things that have already been requested to improve this, add horn honk, enable car jack feature if driver door is opened while engine running.

These are the things I took away from another video covering this new function.

Since I'm not in a high risk area, the PIN would prob piss me off more than help, but getting back the auto park kill would be sweet.
I'll wait a month or 2 to make sure no weird bugs turn up in this release, same as I usually do.

Thief is clever enough to steal a keyless ignition vehicle, but would be deterred by an OBD2 piggyback, which would be the absolute very first thing I would check as a thief....

Gotcha.

Tazer mini does not piggyback onto the OBD2 connector. It replaces the Security Gateway waaaaay up under the dash. But, unless someone has recent firmware, AND has enabled the OBD2 passthrough, the OBD2 port apparently does not work properly bidirectionally. As of a month or 3 ago, there is a firmware upgrade that will allow that so you do not need to remove it for mod friendly dealership visits, but it's off by default.

They also are generally not exactly clever. They are the car thief version of "script kiddie" hackers. They don't write the code, or understand how it works. They just know how to run an app someone who IS clever created.
Case in point, the recent security cam footage of 2 of them spending 90 minutes TRYING (and failing) to make the app work properly to steal a Mojave.

Does anyone use the navigation in motion feature of their tazer? Enabling it on mine doesn't change the behavior of Google maps at all.

I don't because if you want to use it, you have to turn off some other feature I wanted more (turn cam perhaps?)

Looks like a nice feature to have, although I'm worried that it may cause some weird hiccups and brick my truck while I'm at work.

I'm just hoping the firmware fixes my issue where my reprogrammable buttons actually work now.

I wouldn't get use out of the pin lock.

What is the AutoPark? Is that the autopark when the vehicle tries to move with the door open crap?

After the last Informative video, those two thrives now know what to do. They certainly had 10 minutes to spare. Granted, they never got far enough along to even drive away. I think it is basically keeping non-professionnels from stealing your car. It may detour a few professionals where more time would be needed to remove the Tazer or wait the 10 minutes. I can see my getting confused on how to start the car. I'm willing to give it a shot. It is better than what Mopar has to offer.
