I’m going through the same process. 2021 Willys. Got a stone chip from dropped gravel from a big rig and over the course of three days, it went from a chip to a 9” long crack. So much for the gorilla glass. My deductible is the same whether I use off brand or factory for replacement, so I’m getting another. If I had a “do over”, I’d probably still get it as it probably reduces the chance of chips/cracks but doesn’t eliminate it. The truck that dumped gravel on me sent a shower, multiple impacts at highway speed and only one of them chipped/cracked.

While I’m sorry to hear the outcome of others, I have to add that I’m very happy with my gorilla glass so far.

I’ve been behind semi trucks throwing large chunks of salt, sand, and gravel many times over this winter while passing through states and I fully expected to have a damaged glass but not even a pit or chip.

In fact, I had a hit last night that again made me expect damage but just found a pebble near my wiper.

It was an option that came on the Jeep as it was delivered and was cheap at the time but I’m glad it has worked for me.
my issue is not with the strength or durability of the glass itself, it is with the fact the warranty is non existent if the glass is installed at the factory on the jeep....i dont get the logic of it from jeep...

Regular windshield glass install by factory isn't covered either. Seems like they all follow same rules and does regardless of type.
yeah but you dont pay $500.00 for the regular glass as i did for the GG, it is a gamble on any vehicle while driving on the roads whether or not a windshield gets damaged, but paying extra money for a product that supposedly has a 2 year warranty for damage only to find out there is no warranty due to the fact its "factory installed" is somewhat beguilling

Must not be on the board much as this has been talked about much before.

I agree, it is a pig in a poke to buy it as an option without actually having the MOPAR accessory warranty for it. Problem is there is no appreciable way to measure any impact event to determine whether the GG actually should have stood up to said event and offered any value for having it.

Ironically, they have dropped GG from being offered in 2023.

Had mine for roughly 3 weeks. 2 AZ stone hits and 1 star impact and 1 major traveling crack on right hand windshield.

Depending on where you live and what insurance coverage you have (doesn’t cost me to replace. insurance covers all replacements for a minimal monthly charge)…..really not the worth extra expense.

I’m on my 4th or 5th windshield in 2 years.

My insurance agent told me that some laws have changed in the last few years that allow insurance companies to hold windshield replacement claims against you. She told me that too many replacements in a certain period of time could be grounds for dropping my coverage if they chose, not unlike having too many "at fault" accidents.

Good to check with insurance agent. My glass is covered with no deductible with my glass policy.

Yet rear glass leakage is covered under the 3/36 warranty.

Your Iphone has it, along with Samsung's phones.
And a 20’ container load of the GG panels from the factory has a value of $500,000.00.

Makes me wonder what their actual reason for dropping it is? Parts constraint or maybe their lawyers are trying to mitigate a potential class action suit?

I doubt there are grounds for a class action suit. They probably dropped it because of the customer ill will it was causing due to the expectation of warranty coverage where there wasn't any. That's my guess anyway

You should check with another dealer. I have a ‘21 JT and I added the GG option in my factory build.
2 months of ownership and I got a rock chip while driving.
I took it in for warranty and they replaced it with a new GG windshield the next day. All I had to do was provide them with my purchase invoice that showed it was factory installed.
It wasn’t even the same dealership I bought it from.

it was a free replacement but didn’t last a month. Another rock chip.
GG sucks, after the second I just with with a basic windshield GG isn’t worth the money, more of a scam.
I’m currently on my 5th windshield in a year of ownership. I don’t even get upset anymore about rock chips, my glove box if stocked with rain-x windshield repair kits lol.

Same thing with tires... factory installed nobody really warrants them...
